Shes My Wolf

Chapter 4

(Cassandra)

"You let that damnned dog escape!" I yelled. I was furious. I had finally found one strong enough to witdhlast my thirst, and shes gone.. just like that.

Thats the last time I try and be nice.. and to embarrass me like that. To put a queen to the floor! 

My blood was boiling, my face had become visibly red. I stepped out of the corridor into the main entrance of the castle. The other vampires had quickly gathered around me and kneeled. Stating their apologies for letting her escape, and saying they'd do their best to retrieve her.

"You fools, its day. How shall you retrieve her without burning?" I question. They fall silent. 

"Get Maze, I need her here now!" I command, they scramble off. I take my seat in my throne as I wait. Tapping my fingers along the hand rest. 

A door slammed open, the only one brave enough to slam doors in my presence was here. 

"Your highnesssss! You callledd?" Maze screams, her voice echoing through to the roof. She makes her appearance, strutting up and sitting in the empty throne next to me. Her playful demeanor which would usually calm me down was pissing me off.

"Maze... im not in the mood today." I snapped, I turned to her and glared. She immediately go up, and kneeled Infront of me. 

"Im at your service" She says, her head facing the ground. 

"I need new silver cuffs made, and while your at it, create new bars... of silver."

"Of cour-"

"I wasn't done, I want a silver dagger as well. Pure. No substitutes.." I would be ready this time.

"Right away, but may I ask a question" Maze ask, gazing her head up towards me.

I wave my hands allowing it. 

"Are you going to capture another one, after so many... including this one has failed. I believe our way of life is just fi-"

"Our way of life is in shambles, the cattle diseased. Humans are much more weary of coming here now too... forcing our parties into cities, when most have yet to come back. If I can find a way to save some blood for the feeding of others I will not give up on it" I hadn't realized i raised my voice till I saw Maze shaken with fear.

"Im sorry for asking Cas- I mean Queen Cullen" She bows her head once again and trots off, before exiting to another area she ask 

"Shall I also send out a patrol to find the wolf?"

"No, I will find her myself, and make that dagger quickly"

I felt bad. Maze is a good girl, my closest friend throughout the castle. But right now her feelings weren't what I should be worried about. I NEEDED that girl. I ordered the guard to open the gate once more. The sun was still out. I'd have to wait. I surveyed what I could see from within the safety of the castle.

Foot prints, good. Thats a step towards her atleast. 

There was no point in waiting around downstairs for a sun that wouldn't drop for another 4 hours. I told the guard, that if I was needed I'd be in my room. I headed up the stairs past my throne, as I climbed each flight my head filled with worry.

She hasn't eaten in 2 weeks, she cant get far. Not with that hunger... I hope. And what will I do if I can't succeed. How long before a wolf as strong as her braves our forest. Maybe I need to be nicer? No, she'll use it to escape. But what shall I do? If i even get her back.
