Crypt steeled herself for Loki's reaction, looked him in the eye, took in a deep breath and opened her mouth.
"Can you hear me?" she said in a quiet weak voice. His expression gave her her answer. He could. Loki's mouth was a gape and he shut it as he regained his composure but try as he might he still was in shock, left speechless. Clearly animals talking was not normal, not even for Asgardian Frost Giants.
"I beg your pardon?" he replied. Crypt rested her head on his chest looking up at him and him looking down at her. "Can you hear me?" she said a little louder, regaining some strength in her voice.
"Yes". Loki said in almost disbelief. He continued to stare at her, waiting to hear her voice again. Snow could talk. "Why are you talking to me? You have never said a word to anyone.". Crypt couldn't tell him, it would be to much and he might not help her or he start to suspect her of secrets.
"I trust you" she decided on. Loki was taken aback. Trusted? He had not been properly trusted in centuries and here was a talking white fox that claimed to do what no one else had in so long. He ran his fingers through his hair trying to process this information.
"You helped me with my grief and you told me your sorrow, Loki, so I will tell you mine". Crypt didn't want to talk about Vas but if he told the others that she could talk, interrogation would start. If she asked him to teach her magic then he would ask questions.
"A month ago there was a flood in central park" Crypt paused.
"Yes I remember seeing it on the news, please continue Snow" Loki replied.
"I was part of a pack, I had a pack brother, he drowned" she finished.
Loki lowered his head. No one he cared about had died yet so he didn't really understand her pain. He thought back to his confession, she knew what he was.
"I said that I am a Frost Giant. Do you know what that is?" he asked, Loki was scared for the answer but he wouldn't admit it.
"I know some things but you look nothing like one" Crypt asked inquisitively.
Loki had no idea what he was doing, there was a part of him that wanted to confess everything in this fox that sat on top of him. He had no control over his tongue or his brain, or his actions. He let go of his human form and showed Snow his Frost Giant self.
Crypt stared at the red eyes and the blue face with marks. Loki reminded her of her Scinlæce form. She had blue eyes but they would go red if she ever used her blood magic, she had paper white hair on paper white skin with red marks on her face and she had red clawed hands. They were both considered monsters.
Loki grew more and more anxious the longer Snow stared at him, unblinking, not speaking. "Speak, please" he said the worry in his voice betraying his true feelings. Crypt woke up from her thoughts and sniffed Loki's face before licking it, smiling. "Blue looks good on you".
He burst into laughter. Snow was hilarious. Loki then remembered that Natasha had given her the name Snow, she might have her own name.
"Do you have a name other than Snow or do foxes not bother with that?" he asked.
Crypt though for a moment. She has her own name but it was not a foxes name, foxes have names but Crypt was the name given to her Scinlæce form.
"Foxes do have names, my original name is Crypt." she decided.
