Cursed [Loki fanfiction]

11. Asgard

They landed in some sort of golden dome with a swordsman standing on a gold raised platform with a gold sword in the pedestal. So he was the one who could open and close it, good to know.

They marched down the rainbow bridge, Crypt remembered that Loki couldn't talk about this and therefore couldn't do anything. "Loki Laufeyson! I release you from you sacred vow!" she screamed before a hand clamped tightly over her muzzle stopping her from talking. It had worked, she felt the marks retreat back into her skin.

Loki felt and saw it too, he was no longer bound. He could verbally defend her but he feared what Odin had in mind for Crypt and he was a stubborn king and with these bracelets still on he couldn't use his magic. They went to the throne room, the tension in the air was getting thicker by the minute, almost suffocating himself and he was sure that everyone else could feel it.

Odin sat on his chair and Frigga entered the room and sat on her smaller throne. Looking at them now Loki couldn't comprehend why he had wanted the seat so much, it was pointless. "Thor, speak, you are under oath to your king" he barked.

"Crypt is good, she has never shown any signs that she is a Scinlæce, yes she can talk but that is all that there has ever been." Thor said. Loki was almost proud of the oaf for missing out the people she killed in the central park. "What about the people it killed in the natural bit of the city" Frigga piped up. There it was, his adoptive mother was smart but she could never be bother to learn names of places or things she deemed to be unimportant. "Fury has not been mentally sound recently, it has been deemed paranoia. His account can not be believed" Thor reasoned.

Odin was getting annoyed with Thor, so he turned to Loki. "You made a sacred vow with a Scinlæce, betrayer, what do you know?" he ordered. Loki was out of the vow and he had no idea what to do. He had never thought twice about betraying anyone to save himself, ever, but it was different with Crypt, she trusted him and he trusted her.

Loki reached out to Crypt with his mind to establish a telepathic link. "Crypt?"

"Wait, what?! What is happening?" she panicked. 

"I will explain later. What do I do?" Loki said, calming he down.

It was time to stop hiding. Crypt had to face what she was just like everyone else. No more hiding. "Tell them everything" said said in her head.

Loki took in a deep breath and told them everything. He had known. She was a Scinlæce. Crypt had blood magic. The explosion was her.

"Loki, how do you know?!" Thor growled, he was clearly angry that his brother had ratted her out.

"Because I have been teaching her, Thor, to control it" he snapped. Silence. "We haven't found the trigger yet.". Crypt felt a pang of guilt, she had.

Odin asked him why he was teaching her but Crypt answered. "Because I don't want to hurt anyone ever again. I want to live my life not having to worry about accidentally hurting someone". Frigga shifts in her seat and something clicks in Crypt's mind.

"You!" she gasps and Frigga looks almost amused.

"You finally recognised me" Frigga smiled and Loki, Thor and Odin look between the two women. "Do you two know each other?" Loki asked.

"She is the witch that trapped me in this fox body" Crypt growled. Both Loki and Thor were in disbelief. "You should be dead. I should have killed you, like Odin did to your entire planet.". No they were lying. Her home planet was fine, her family would have mourned her and then continued to live their lives. They were all alive.

"Scinlæce are vile, dangerous monsters. I wiped them all out for the safety of the nine realms so when I found out that one had slipped through my fingers, I vowed to finish what I started" Odin shouted. The room had started to slowly fill up with guards, they were going to kill her.

Crypt felt a light tapping in her mind, like when Loki talked to her telepathically but it was a different person. It was Frigga. "They are going to kill you" she said. "I know, what are you doing?" she replied, having a grip on the mind communication. "I am sorry that I put you in this form but Odin was going to kill all the Scinlæce and genocide is wrong. I am sorry that I couldn't save anyone else, but I saved you, please run, escape. I know that you are not evil and I hate what my husband has done. You will have two seconds".

The desperation in Frigga's voice was compelling enough to convince Crypt that she was telling the truth. Frigga nodded and the world froze. She bolted for the door. Seconds went in a bink and the frozen guards smacked a spear head across her side sending her back to wear she started. They were all coming for her. Crypt had only one option left. Sing.
