Chapter 10: Swayed

The palace hall turned cold and ice scattered to the floor. I was shocked when I saw her and another man appear in the middle of the palace halls. The man was holding her and she... passed out?

Her brothers and sister ran towards her direction and the man who introduced himself as Leon went to get her from him.

"Where did she use her power?" Leon asked.

What happened to her?

She looked really exhausted. Her beautiful eyes were closed and she looked lifeless.

The man scratched the back of his head before answering. "Sa vampire village, Kuya. Sinabi ko na sa kanya na masyadong malayo pero kailangan daw makabalik na kami dito kasi baka importanti ang panauhin." He looked annoyed. "Sino ba?!"

She rushed to go back to her city because of us? "I am sorry." I bowed my head and apologized.

Even Lord Romer bowed her head to apologize too.

"Sino ka naman?" The man asked while looking at us as if saying that we are the reason that the empress is in that situation.

"Shut up, Magnus. They are from Arsamanedon and they are here to deliver gifts for us from their queen." Leon said while holding the unconscious empress. "Now is not the time for this, let us put our sister in her chamber."

Darkness covered the ground they were standing on and then they were swallowed by it.

"That's one weird family right there." I heard Lord Romer say.

Leon appeared from the darkness again and bowed in front of Lord Romer and me. "My apologies for that." He started. "We don't know when our Empress will wake up, she's usually like that when she uses her power to go from one place to another. Only when it's far."

So that powerful woman still gets weak?

"Please... just stay at our palace and feel free to roam around Auroravale. Our servants will lead you the way to your rooms." He offered.

"That is really not necessary, we are to deliver the gifts only." I declined his offer although it was quite tempting.

He shakes his hand in an elegant manner. "Just please, stay and wait for our Empress."

I looked at Lord Romer when he spoke to the prince. "Okay, we will stay. Thank you for the kind offer."

So here I am, looking around the huge garden of their palace. It was unusual because their flowers were made of crystal and when I touched it, it was cold. Was this because of their Empress?

It is my third day here and their empress is still not awake. She was still in her chambers sleeping. I roamed around their city on my first and second day here. They had unique places. Their palace from the outside looked like it was made of ice.

I planned to go back to the room where I stayed in their palace, but a beautiful woman walked in my direction and I froze...

She was dazzling...

"Lord Percival." She uttered my name and at that moment, I realized that I like her.

I tried to compose myself and bowed at her. "Empress." I managed to say.

She really had something in her that will make you look. Her presence was too overwhelming like I do not deserve to breathe the air she breathes, and I do not deserve to be on the same ground with her.

She was like that... too powerful... and too pretty.

Can someone even deserve to have her?

"I learned from my brothers that you stayed here." She told me. "I am sorry for not greeting you when you got here, I tend to be exhausted using my power to take me to a far place." She sounded sincere.
