Chapter 35: The Queen of Dreams

The Queen of Dreams

Sandali akong tumigil upang tingnan ang buong kaganapan sa digmaan. Marami ng natumba, allies and enemies are scattered on the ground, lifeless.

This war has become bloody, too much blood sacrificed for the greedy.

Umangat ang tingin ko sa palasyong dahan-dahan ng natutumba. My only concern is where the king and  queen is?

Tila bumaliktad ang sikmura ko nang makita kong umangat ang tubig, kasabay nun ang pagkalunod ng mga mamamayan ng Wistervale. "Where is the queen?" I asked the guard.

If this goes on, I might have to use my powers because this is too much. Malulunod ang buong Wistervale sa ginagawa ng kalaban. Nagtakbuhan ang ibang mga mamamayan habang ang mga guwardiya ng palasyo ay hindi gumawa ng hakbang.

Taas noo ang mga sundalo na humarap sa tubig na unti-unting lumalaki. Like they were ready for whatever is coming their way.

The sound of the water slowly surrounding us was deafening, but you couldn't see any fear from the army's eyes.

I dodged an enemy's attack and kicked his legs causing him to hit the ground. Tinapakan ko ang leeg niya at binitawan lang nang nakita kong hindi na siya huminga.

Three men started attacking me and one was able to hit my face, blood started dripping from my forehead. Pagalit akong lumingon tiyo. "Why the fuck would you aim at my face?!" galit kong tanong sa kanya at mabigat ang mga paang naglakad patungo sa direksyon niya.

Ngumisi lang ito sa akin at sinangga ang mga atake ko. I must say that he was strong but I am an Empress, he can't win against me. I punched his face so he fell to the ground. Saktong pag tayo niya ay tumalon ako para sipain ang pagmumukha niya.

"Stupid," nanggigil kong sabi sa kanya.

Humarap ulit ako sa ibang kalaban at palihim na binawi ang hangin sa sistema nila kay isa-isa silang natumba.

Nakakabingi ang tunog ng pagguho ng palasyo. It all turned to nothing, the beautiful palace that stood in the middle of Wistervale, vanished because of this war.

I searched through the crowd to try and look for Queen Ariela and her King.

And there lies the Queen, sitting on the ground with a man in her arms. I can only see the man's head and hair because he was facing the queen. Nababalot na ng dugo ang magarang kasuotan ng reyna, magulo ang kanyang buhok at halatang umiiyak siya.

I glanced at the water slowly becoming bigger and then looked at the Queen again, she was crying, until she did the most painful scream. You can really feel her pain while she was holding her king in her arms.

"Remember what I say," umiiyak na sabi niya. "A powerful person will be born," humahangos na saad niya at hinigpitan ang yakap sa hari. "That person will be the end of you, she will stand in the crowd, with power you can't imagine one can hold," she said like she was sure of what she was saying.

"And when she reigns, none of you will win against her," she gritted her teeth, she looked angry and hurt. "She will  be the end, your downfall..."

An arrow was about to strike her but I was quick enough to run in her direction and catch the arrow before it hit her. "Are you okay?"

She looked at me and smiled, despite the tears in her face. Pilit kong tinignan ang mukha ng hari sa bisig niya ngunit mahigpit ang pagkakayakap niya rito.

Pamilyar sa akin ang likod ng hari ngunit hindi na ako nagpumilit na tingnan siya.

The queen nodded at me like she was giving me permission to fight. Using my powers, I transported the queen and her beloved to where there were a lot of guards and then I went back to where I was standing a while ago.

Sinuri ko muna ang tubig at dahan-dahan na naglakad palapit dito.

"Baka matangay ka!" sigaw ng guwardiya ngunit hindi ko siya pinansin.

I walked towards the water and raised my palm and touched it. "Freeze," I ordered the water and then I saw how fast the water quickly freezed.

Naramdaman ko ang tingin ng nasa paligid ko, kahit ang ibang mamamayan ay tumingin sa gawi ko, tila gulat na gulat dahil sa kapangyarihan na taglay ko.

I turned my back from the water, ngayon ay nasa likod ko na ang malaking tubig na unti-unting nag yeyelo.

"Kill her!" matinis na sigaw ng babaeng namumuno sa mga kalaban.

"Oh I can't wait to kill you," ngisi ko sa kanya.

The battle started again but this time, I was able to use my powers. The fight was going well, the odds were in our favor. The woman's target was me. Kaya payapa ako sa pakikipaglaban na hindi iniisip ang lagay ng reyna dahil ako na ngayon ang puntirya ng kalaban.

Holding my ice sword, I swiftly sliced an enemy's neck until his head fell to the ground. Lumingon rin ako sa kalaban at pinadalhan siya ng nagyeyelong kutsilyo na agad dumami para patamaan ang iba pa.

Ambrose burned the enemies down so their dying screams were so loud, nakakarindi itong marinig. I looked at the woman again and saw how she was glaring at me.

Kanina pa sana ako patay kung nakakamatay ang tingin niya. Pabalik-balik ang tingin niya sa tubig na ngayon ay yelo na dahil sa kagagawan ko. I smiled at her to piss her off. I thought that she was coming towards me so I anticipated her move.

The woman was clever. I saw how she went to the Queens' place and pierced a sword from her back. "No!" sigaw ko at ginamit ang kapangyarihan ko para puntahan ang reyna.

Agad kong pinadalhan ng katana ang babae at ang iba dun ay nailagan niya kaya nakalayo siya sa amin ng Reyna.

Blood was coming out of her mouth but she smiled when she saw me. "It is you in my dreams, Enchantress of Snow."

Nanindig ang balahibo ko sa pag tawag niya sa akin. "When the time comes, I will bow to you because you are the righteous one," she said and then smiled at me once more. "Let me do something one last time."

She took a deep breath. Without ever taking her hands around her king. "Do you know my power, Eira?" she asked. "I control dreams," malumanay na sabi niya, nanghihina na.

Lumuhod ako sa harap niya upang hawakan ang balikat niya ngunit ngumit lamang siya sa akin bago malalim na hininga. "That means I can also steal everyone's memory," tumingin siya sa akin. "They will forget that you joined the war so you will have to defeat them in the future."

"You don't have to, you have to save your energy," sabi ko sa kanya.

"I am destined to die today," bakas sa boses niya na tanggap na niya ang mangyayari sa kanya. "They killed him," bumagsak ang mata niya sa haring tila natutulog lang. "Even if I live, a part of me already died together with him," umiiyak na aniya.

"I'm sorry," I apologized to her."

"My King," she whispered to him. "I will finish this war, I am sorry that you have to continue this because I am not powerful enough to stop the enemies," bumalik ang tingin niya sa akin.

"Makakaasa ka, Ariela," I squeezed her shoulder. "I will stop them at any cost."

The queen closed her eyes and whispered to herself. And then I saw the portal again. I didn't want to leave the queen but when she opened her eyes, she was smiling at me again.

"You were a beautiful dream, Empress," her voice was the last thing I heard when the portal successfully swallowed me.
