Luke is back, was my first thought when I entered the clearing to train with the others. I hadn't seen him yet, but for some strange reason I felt his presence. I looked around and I found him on the balcony of the packhouse talking to a gorgeous girl. Her blond hair was perfectly styled in a high ponytail, she was wearing skintight workout clothes and just looked perfect. My heart ached and my stomach turned when I saw her touch his biceps and laugh with something he said. He smiled back at her, and I really wanted to walk away but I was rooted in my spot.

A warm and heavy arm was placed on my shoulder, "come Nell, I'm taking you for a different training today." Alpha Nicolas said while he pulled me away from my spot. Deeper in the woods he stopped and watched me, "since you haven't a scent, I wanted to work with you to become as quiet as a mouse. I want you to run through the woods like a ninja."

"Is that girl his mate?" I asked instead.

He shook his head, "I don't think so. If she would be he would have told us."

"Then who is she?" I asked.

"Angeline, daughter of Alpha Patrick of the—" he began. I frowned and felt an anger rise inside of me.

"Is he going to take her as his chosen mate?" I asked not interested in who she was.

"I haven't asked him yet. But it could be."

I huffed and placed my hands on my hips, "so, he can't accept me, a human as his chosen mate but an Alpha's daughter he can?" I muttered and looked away, I felt like a little child, complaining because I didn't get the toy I wanted.

"Oh!" His eyes went wide. "No Nell we are not going to put ideas in our heads—"

"Mind link him, ask him. I need to know," I snapped at him in command. His eyes went wide but he listened, I smirked take that Alpha. A silly human can make a command too.

"He doesn't know yet," Alpha Nicolas said after a few minutes.

My hands clenched into fists, and I tried to remember my mediation lessons that Helen let me follow. They helped me to calm down before a show. I closed my eyes and took some deep breaths so that I calmed down again. "Very good Nelly," Alpha Nicolas said. "I'm going to shift and run away to the North. I'm going to signal you when you may start looking for me. Try to be as fast and quiet as you can when you look for me. If I hear you, I win."

"What do you get when you win?"

"A show for the whole pack."

I smiled and narrowed my eyes, "what do I get, when I win?"

"Whatever you want," he said.

I nodded, "I'll think about it."

"First you need to win. Don't forget that I'm an Alpha," he smirked before he walked away and shifted behind a tree. His dark-brown wolf barked at me and ran off. I was probably not going to win but I was going to do my best. I braided my hair and tightened the laces of my shoes properly. I pulled my sweater off, leaving me in my tight yoga pants and sports bra. I was ready to go. I would go in a bow around him, coming from the east. The rest of the time that I waited till he gave me the starting signal I meditated, slowing down my heartbeat and stayed as silent as possible. I heard his howl afar signaling that I could start.
