"How was Angeline?" James asked me

"How was Angeline?" James asked me.

"She was alright when I dropped her off at her aunt. She said that she missed you." I told him. When I arrived at the Blood Moon pack, I walked right in a mating ceremony. Angeline's and mine to be precise, that was the surprise that her father had for me. I panicked and told him that I had found my mate, I even described her. Or at least I described Nell. That's when he became furious and called the closest mate less Alpha that he found good enough to leave his pack to. While he was on the phone, Luna Cleo packed Angeline a small bag, gave me an address and pushed us in a car.

"Thanks Luke," he said with a grateful nod.

"Anytime James," I didn't mind, anything that could take my mind off Nell was good. I missed her, I dreamed every night about her. I slept most nights in her room in the hospital where her scent was the strongest, although after a couple of weeks it was almost gone. Sometimes I catch a whiff of her scent when I press my nose deep in the pillow. Tobias caught me once and with a chuckle he closed the door behind me, leaving me alone with the last of her scent.

Commotion outside the packhouse pulled me out of my thoughts and I sniffed the air, "vampire," I muttered while James did same. Shawn walked in with a vampire flanked by Max and 5 warriors.

"Alpha," the vampire mumbled bending his head to us, showing his respect and showing that he didn't mean harm.

"Not yet, only son of—" I said and reached out to shake his hand, "Lucas or Luke is fine. This is James," his eyes lighted up in recognition when I said my name.

"He wants to talk to us. He has news regarding Nell," Shawn said.

"Follow us," I walked towards dad's office while I mind linked mom.

Apparently, Max had notified his entire family because they all came into Dad's office, except for Julia because she had gone to the city buying stuff for college.

John kept silent but watched everyone coming in with a smirk on his face. When everyone finally sat down, we all looked at him expectantly.

"You weren't lying when you said that they really care for her. What did you tell them?" he asked Shawn.

"Everything. I told them everything," Shawn breathed out.

He hummed, "so you do understand why Alpha Vince did what he did?" he asked.

"Of course, we do. But we want to keep her safe as well," Max growled.

"Very well. I left the pack 3 days ago—" he started.

"Why?" I asked.

He narrowed his eyes at me, "I was going to tell you that."

"Sorry—," I said but I was interrupted when the door was slammed open, Julia stood in the doorway with wide eyes, "MATE," she muttered slightly annoyed. Many emotions were visible on her face, but happiness wasn't none of them. Julia didn't make it a secret that she wanted to go to college. A mate would hold her back she always said. Finding him now 2 weeks before college started, she's probably worried about what will happen.
