The next morning 5 Alpha's arrived accompanied by their Beta or some warriors. One even brought his mother with him. I have never seen Angeline so pale, her eyes were red rimmed, and the entire time she looked down to the ground. Just like her mother. Her father was a real piece of— you can fill it in for me.
Today, surprise surprise, James was allowed to help with the omega's. He needed to fill the guests their glasses when they were empty. During the dinner the Alpha talked about his daughter. He praised her into the heaven, selling her. That was the only reason why her father let James in the dining room. I caught James his jaw clench more than once. The hand behind his back when he filled the glasses was balled into a fist. But every time he came close to Angeline, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, calming down.
"He calmed himself down by taking in her scent," Jason told me afterwards while I helped the omega's cleaning up the dining room.
"So, their bond isn't completely gone?"
"I don't think so. When you reject someone, the other person needs to accept the rejection."
I hummed, "That's great, Angeline told me that she didn't do that."
"Well, you tried but I think they are a lost cause. Tomorrow we are going back home."
I smiled, "I'm glad. I missed it."
"The pack or someone?" He teased me and I punched his arm. He rubbed the spot but laughed with me.

I was packing my suitcase before going to bed. Tomorrow-morning after breakfast we will fly back home, finally. You can't help people who don't want to be helped. I heard a very soft knock followed by the Luna entering my room. "Luna? What can I do for you?" I asked, surprised seeing her here.
"I wanted to say goodbye and—," she lowered her voice to a whisper, "thank you for trying to help my Angeline."
I shrugged, "I tried but I failed. Soon she will be mated to one of those Alpha's."
"Not if I can help it. Follow me please," she said and walked away. I followed her till we stopped in front of James's room. She opened the door without knocking and we found James on his bed, reading a thick book.
"Not again," he mumbled seeing me.
"I'm just with her," I pointed towards the Luna and shut the door behind me. The room was small and with a bed taking up almost all the space, the Luna and I hadn't really that much space.
"James, I would like you to leave the pack tomorrow, —" the Luna started.
"Luna?!" I shrieked. "I thought you wanted to help your daughter?"
"Let me finish—" she hissed, and my eyes went wide seeing her like this. The submissive woman was gone.
"Sorry Luna," I stepped a bit away from her, she's scary.
