CHAPTER 5
[ New Orleans, 2012 ]

Georgia sighed to herself as she came out of her room after a long night of excruciating silence. Elijah had rushed her home and provided no explanation as to why, only that he would tell her in good time. He had left early the next morning, sporting his gym bag and hadn't been back since. She overheard Klaus bickering with Freya in the study as she passed. "Ah Georgia! Just the witch I was hoping to see."

She raised an eyebrow as she made a B-line for the room. "What is it now?"

"Do you know where my brother is?" He grinned. Freya was sat irritatedly upon her yoga mat as Klaus invaded her space.

"He left for the gym this morning but in that time he could have made it cross country, so im not entirely sure. He doesn't tell me anything unfortunately." Georgia rolled her eyes. "Although your concern for his whereabouts is adorable"

"I simply want to know who is here at any given moment, as I was telling the lovely Freya!" Just as Freya began to utter a remark a sweaty Elijah entered the room, accompanied by an agitated Hayley.

"Well, as long as we're talking attendance." Hayley leant against the desk. Georgia raised an eyebrow at the pair.

"Oh isn't this a pleasant gathering, my not-so-loving older brother, the incessant mother of my child, my long lost sister and of course, my former one-night-stand turned sister-in-law." Each of them rolled their eyes at klaus' comments as Hayley carried on the conversation.

"Charming. Elijah was just catching me up on how you have no clue which one of your long-lost buddies you can trust and which one is trying to kill you."

"Well, clearly what the situation needs is more opinions."Klaus smirked, glancing toward his brother. "I assume you told her about the bloody prophecy, forgetting that the wonderful Hayley aligns perfectly with our suspect pool - for the both of us."

"He didn't actually" Hayley looked over her shoulder at Elijah before returning her focus to Klaus. "Now would be a good time"

Georgia sighed as she sat herself upon the couch, knowing they would be here awhile.

"Well, it appears my old mate Lucien has acquired a genuine seer, and in an effort to prove his good intentions, he got her to show us some rather dire visions of future doom. It's grim stuff, really - not for the faint of heart." Klaus feigned empathy.

"Whose doom are we talking about, here? Because is it's yours, I think we're all okay with that." Hayley raised an eyebrow.

"Well, sadly, we're all on the chopping block. But chin up! This witch claims her visions are constantly evolving. So you may just get your wish" he smirked, turning towards his brother.

"Yeah well some of us never heard about these updated visions." Georgia rolled her eyes, leaning back upon the couch.

"Don't worry my love, you will do much more than hear of them. You will see them for yourself." Elijah stepped away from the doorway, sliding a business card across the coffee table. "Tonight."

Later in the evening, Georgia was in Rebekah's old room, digging through her closet in hopes of finding appropriate attire for a ball. The closest thing that Georgia owned was her senior year, prom dress and she had a feeling that wouldn't cut it. She pulled out a dress, holding it to her body as she examined it closely.

She groaned loudly as she added the dress to an ever growing pile of 'no's. Elijah entered the room, watching her closely as he fiddled with his bow tie. "May I?"

She turned to him, her features cold but a sigh of defeat escaped her lips as she sat upon the bed. He left his bow tie untied as he began to search through Rebekah's closet. "I don't know why you're dragging me to this thing."
