CHAPTER 7
[ New Orleans, 2012 ]

After a worrisome car journey, Elijah and Georgia returned to the compound. Hayley and Marcel followed closely behind them, with Marcel strung over her shoulder, each of them helping to guide him the up winding staircase. A drunk Klaus greeted them within the study. "Ah the prodigal son returns!"

Hayley sighed, loosening her grip and allowing Marcel to fall onto the couch. Georgia smiled at her as she passed, before sitting with Marcel. She cupped his cheek, pulling his face up to meet hers. "Hey you okay?"

Elijah couldn't help but roll his eyes at his stumbling brother, who sat upon the coffee table opposite the pair. He swirled his wine as he spoke. "I bet they were all so impressed, weren't they? Hmm, your new mates? Positively taken by your boldness, your cunning wit, and your steely resolve. And you just assumed that I would be willing- eager, even- to drain the blood from my veins in the aftermath."

"Klaus." Georgia glared at him, taking the wine from his hand. "I am asking you to help him. You still owe me one remember?"

He laughed loudly. "We cannot tell friend from foe, and what is he doing? Pledging a fraternity run by those conspiring against us!"

"My interest in The Strix is because of you." Marcel choked out. Georgia rubbed his back as she glanced over her shoulder at an irritated Elijah. "I don't get to choose sides. Whoever comes for you, comes for me. That's all I need to know."

Freya crept into the room, knocking quietly. "She's awake."

"Yes, whoever comes for me may very well come for you." Klaus sighed as he stood, biting into his hand. He motioned for Georgia to hold out the wineglass. Once he had finished, Marcel reached for the glass, but Klaus swiftly grabbed it from Georgias grip.

"But, they may also come through you, Marcellus." Georgia rolled her eyes at his dramatics as Klaus finally passed the glass to Marcel. "Remember that."

Klaus began to accompany Elijah out of the room. "Georgia, love, come on. I believe my dear brother promised you a private viewing of this godforsaken prophecy."

Georgia hugged Marcel quickly. "I'll be back soon."

She rushed towards the brothers, taking Elijah's outstretched hand. In the foyer, was Lucien and his witch, who had a nasty bruise beneath her eye, courtesy of Freya.

"I'm sorry. I hoped I was wrong, Lucien. I really did. But I saw it. I saw him die." Georgia furrowed her brow, noticing Klaus' defeated expression as she glanced around the group.

"Did you see the weapon?" Lucien placed a comforting hand on alexis' thigh. She nodded in response. "What is it?"

"To understand, it must be seen." She locked eyes with Georgia, holding an outstretched hand to her. She shuffled across the room, sitting beside the witch. Lucien stood, motioning for Elijah to take his place. The couple looked at each other warily as Elijah bit down on her wrist. Alexis clutched Georgias hand tightly, allowing her into her mind. Her head threw back as the visions began.

A flash of light conveyed a grimoire, the pages within it were littered with spells and pentacles. The dining room was then in disarray with chairs overturned and broken glasses strewn across the room. Elijah's portrait was splattered with blood. A flash revealed Lucien, with a smug expression before the scene switched to an inconsolable and petrified Davina. The vision suddenly burst into flames as a pair of large fangs flashed before them.

Georgia dropped Alexis' hand at the sudden burst, falling back into the chair. Elijah also pulled away, beginning to throw up all of alexis' blood. Georgia looked at the witch in concern, noticing the blood pouring from her eyes. "Something's wrong."
