CHAPTER 13
[ New Orleans, 2012 ]

A few weeks had passed. Marcel had indeed betrayed the Mikaelsons in order to free Tristan, thereby alienating not only the Mikaelsons but Georgia as well. While he did show his true allegiances by curing Freya with his blood and not using a deadly weapon upon Elijah, Georgia found it hard to forgive and forget. She knew it was a small part in an elaborate scheme, one which she was in on, but she still hadn't entirely moved on from his role in Davina's shunning. So Marcels further actions proved unhelpful in regaining his spot in Georgias good books.

"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" She stared up at him, fury and rage swirling in her hazel eyes.

Marcel slammed his glass down on the counter. "What choice did I have? I knew the Mikaelsons would show me greater compassion than the Strix would. We both know you wouldn't let Elijah hurt me either."

"I would stand by that statement but my patience with you is wearing thin Marcel. I could have been there, Hope could have been home. There are so many things that could have went wrong." Georgia snapped, running a hand through her hair.

"That's why I went in first, okay? And I don't think a torture party is the best place for a toddler!" He rolled his eyes, leaning back in his seat.

Georgia scoffed, slamming her hand down on the bar top. "Oh and what would you know about parenting? You threw Davina to the wolves and left everyone else to pick up the pieces."

"You knew Davina needed help. What were you doing? Your boyfriend came up with a solution before you did. You're so wrapped up in their world Georgia! They are 1000 years old, they don't need a 22 year old girl to protect them." Marcel began to chuckle, but his laugh became caught in his throat as Georgia twisted her hand. She watched as his eyes widened in fear, his skin greying and slowly desiccating. She stopped as he began clawing at his own skin and his mouth began to foam with blood.

"Don't underestimate me Marcel."

He gasped, leaning forward and clutching his knees as his skin began to regain its colour. "Dammit I won't, but don't forget who your friends are, Georgia. The Strix may have given you that power, but they can just as easily take it away."

She had taken Tristan's offer, and he had stayed true to his word. She was initiated and left alone with her power to use however she'd like. She had helped locate Rebekah's body and Elijah was now off retrieving her from the bottom of the ocean. She headed downstairs, expecting him to be home soon but what greeted her was greatly unexpected.

Freya was laid limp upon the couch in the courtyard. Her arm was broken and tied up in a makeshift sling with Hayley and Jackson stood over her. Georgia rushed down the stairs. "What the hell happened?"

"The strix." Hayley sighed, running a hand through her hair. "I fed her my blood she should be good."

Georgia sat on the coffee table, moving Freya's hair from her face, dried blood was pooled around her lips and across her forehead. "You okay?"

She nodded in response, closing her eyes momentarily before they shot open in shock.

"They took it. The Serratura." She groaned in pain and frustration as she pulled herself up into a seated position. Georgia placed a pillow behind her back. "I was meeting with a witch from the bloodline who built the lock. I was hoping she could help me destroy it, but it's not possible. She said the only way to get rid of it is to use it. We have to get it back and lock something else away. Anything but my family."
