Sonic's eyes snapped open hearing a commotion outside and it put him on alarm, he looked over and saw Shadow hurrying into the cave with Silver right behind him, they hurried towards him and Shadow quickly picked him up then turned to see Silver standing at the entrance looking for something, Shadow then hurried forward and stood next to Silver. Sonic looked outside and found it was still dark but much later than before, he guessed very early morning, suddenly a sound of stomping and engines came from the woods.
"Come on." Silver said, waving for them to follow.
Shadow quickly went after Silver, Sonic close to him as they went, Sonic tensed slightly and pressed up against Shadow in fear as the sound of robots got closer. Shadow held on tight to his brother and went faster with Silver flying close behind, they hurried through the woods going as fast as they could till the sound of the robots got more and more distant. They then started to slow till they came to a full stop, Silver landed next to Shadow and looked at Sonic whose face was buried between Shadow's arm and chest.
"It's ok Sonic, we are safe now." Silver said, setting a hand on his shoulder.
Sonic shivered and slowly looked up at them with fearful eyes.
"We need to find somewhere to stay, somewhere far from here." Shadow said, looking at Silver.
Silver was about to say something but he was interrupted by a small rustling in the bushes. All three were on high alert and Silver got into a defense position ready to fight, and Shadow backed away a little still holding their weakened brother in his arms. Sonic watched the bushes and started to tremble with fear as the rustling got a bit louder and closer.
"Ouch.." a voice muttered from the bushes.
A moment later a yellowish fox tumbled out of the bushes and hit the ground a few yards away, the fox pushed himself to his hands and knees and shook his head looking behind himself to find his foot caught in a branch of the bush, the fox pinned his ears and reached to free his ankle from the bushed trap.
Shadow and Silver glanced at each other then glared back at the fox who was now free and standing up, the fox then brushed himself off and turned to continue on his way but he froze when he spotted the two standing there watching him.
The fox frantically backed away noticing they were prepared for a fight, but he spotted the black figure holding a blue and the blue looked more fearful than he was, they all stood there staring at each other, each waiting for the other to make a move.
Sonic watched them all, he was afraid of what the fox would do even though he didn't look very threatening.
"H-hi." The fox greeted cautiously, moving to the left to try and get a better view of all three.
Silver pinned his ears and hissed at the fox, moving in front of the other two slightly.
The fox noticed the protectiveness and guessed something was the matter with the blue figure, because he was limp in the black figures arms and both black and white forms seemed to be worried and protective of him.
"Is there something wrong?" the fox asked, sounding concerned.
All three paused in surprise and stared at the fox.
"I'm not going to harm you." the fox assured them, recognizing their behavior.
They seemed to relax slightly with the assurance but they were also still on edge.
"Do you need help?" the fox asked, offering a hand.
The black shook his head and snarled, pulling the blue closer.
