Silver opened his eyes and sat up, sleepily he looked around and noticed Shadow was missing slightly alarmed he stood up and went to the caves opening and peeked outside, everything was wet but it did stop raining and the sun was out, and the sunlight shown in through the mouth of the cave making it bright in the cave. He slowly walked outside a little ways and looked to see if he could see Shadow anywhere when there wasn't any sign of him Silver sighed and walked back to the cave, he took one last look then shook his head slightly and went back inside.
Silver looked at Sonic who still lay in the same place but he was curled up slightly and his head laid on top of his right hand as the left lay limp on his side almost touching the ground, he seemed to be sleeping peacefully and it calmed Silver's worry a bit.
Slowly Silver walked towards his brother and knelt next to him setting a hand gently on his head making sure he was alright, Sonic made no move in reply he just lay there quietly. Silver then moved his hand to Sonic's heart and he smiled as his brother's heart responded beating slow and steady, he looked at Sonic for a moment longer before moving away a little and sitting down a foot or two away.
After a little while Silver suddenly heard someone approaching, on high alert he jumped up and whirled around ready to fight but there standing in the cave opening was Shadow, Silver relaxed slightly as Shadow walked into the cave.
"Where did you run off to?" Silver asked.
"I went to scout the area to make sure no one followed us." Shadow answered.
"And?" Silver pressed.
"Don't worry, no sign of Eggman's robots or the other two anywhere." Shadow replied. "And the hard rain last night drowned out all traces of us."
"Good." Silver smiled in relief. "I guess we are safe for a while."
"Yes, but soon we have to find somewhere else to hide." Shadow said, sitting down.
"Yeah, no kidding." Silver replied, also sitting down.
"Is he doing any better?" Shadow asked, pointing at Sonic.
"It's hard to tell but I think so." Silver answered, looking at their unconscious brother.
"When he wakes up we will find somewhere safer to go." Shadow said, looking back at Silver.
Silver nodded in agreement and looked at Shadow.
