Shadow looked over at Silver who was quite worried. It had been several days and they still couldn't find Sonic, they looked everywhere and now there were only two options left, either Sonic was purposely hiding from them or he was captured.
"I don't think he would ever hide from us for this long." Silver said, shaking his head.
"But they don't know where we are, and they already made it clear they don't want Sonic." Shadow told him.
"You're right, they don't want him, they want us and the only way to draw us out is to put one of us in danger." Silver said. "Oh.. no.. Did they.."
"They did." Shadow interrupted with a small groan of frustration.
"How do you know for sure?" Silver asked curiously.
"It just sounds too much like something they would do." Shadow answered, shaking his head.
"Well it was just a possibility but now it seems too real." Silver nodded.
"I could help." Tails said, walking up to them.
"Aren't you a little.. young?" Shadow asked, crossing his arms over his chest. "How old are you anyway? Five?"
"I'm eight." Tails huffed, also crossing his arms.
"Like that's any better." Shadow said.
"And how old are you?" Tails tried.
Shadow and Silver paused, stunned by that question. Slowly they looked at each other then back at Tails, Silver reached up and scratched his head with an uneasy laugh.
Tails raised a brow awaiting their reply.
"Three.." Silver muttered, looking away nervously.
Tails stared at them stunned. "You call me too young to go into battle when you guys are half my age?" Tails demanded in shock.
Shadow face palmed at that.
And Silver simply smiled, unsure what to make of it.

Sonic sat quietly in the corner of the cell, it was several days since he got here and they hadn't given him any food or water, and with the injuries he had received from the tussle made him weakened but he could care less, he was more worried about his brothers then himself even though his situation was pretty dire.
"I should have stayed.. now they are going to suffer because of what I did.." Sonic mumbled, curling up. "I guess I am the weakest brother.."
Tears started to form in his eyes and he let them slip down his cheeks as he sat there. 'Now all they fought for is ruined because of my foolishness.. They protected and looked out for me all my life and this is how I repay them.. by leading them back to their demise..' he thought to himself as even more tears flowed from his eyes as he squeezed them shut. 'I'm a horrible brother..'
