Sonic stared up at the ceiling it was around evening and he had been drifting in and out of sleep throughout the day and now he was just laying there patiently for his brothers to return, Silver had gone to scout out the area and Shadow was busy talking to Tails as he made dinner. He wasn't sure what they were talking about but he guessed it was about the situation, and it put him on edge. Suddenly he heard the door open then close and someone walked into the room, curious he listened closely and heard someone walking towards him.

"Hi Sonic." Silver greeted, moving to Sonic's line of sight.

Sonic smiled. "H-hi.." he greeted back, trying not to strain himself.

"Doing better?" Silver asked.

Sonic looked at him and slowly nodded.

"Good." Silver smiled.

Sonic watched as Silver walked away a minute later and went to the kitchen, he then closed his eyes and pressed up against the back of the couch as he fell fast asleep.

Shadow crossed his arms, he really disliked the idea that they were staying here for a while but both him and Silver noticed how being here helped with Sonic's recovery so they were going to stay till Sonic could at least walk and they were somewhat relieved that Tails agreed to it, it had only been a day or two and already they were beginning to trust the fox. It wasn't like them, especially Shadow but here they were staying with a fox they knew pretty much nothing about, though the fox knew nothing about them either except that Sonic was injured and all three were hiding from something he also knew nothing about and Shadow especially wanted to keep it that way.

Silver looked at Shadow, noticing something was bothering him, with a sigh he shook his head.

"Shadow what is wrong?" Silver asked.

"Nothing." Shadow said stubbornly.

"Shadow, I know you are bothered with being here but it's the best place to lie low till Sonic recovers fully." Silver stated, looking at him.

"I know." Shadow replied, looking down. "It's just.. the uneasy feeling of so many people in one place."

"It's a town of course there are going to be a lot of people." Silver said.

"And you know that, how?" Shadow asked, raising a brow.

"Uh.. read it somewhere." Silver said simply with a small shrug.

"Uh-huh.." Shadow said, not buying  it.

"Alright, it was just a guess." Silver admitted, putting his hands up as if to surrender.

Shadow was pleased with the quick surrender and let a smirk spread across his face.

Silver pinned his ears and lunged at Shadow, both fell to the floor and tumbled around in a fight not a real fight but a playful one, they rolled around trying to top the other off with their own play skills but when the door opened then closed they froze on the floor, Silver was pinned to the floor and Shadow was on top him trying to keep him pinned, not wanting to get caught they quickly jumped to their feet and acted like nothing ever happened.

Tails walked into the house and found Shadow and Silver standing in the dining room looking around trying not to look suspicious. Tails shook his head slightly and walked up to them.

"I got mostly what I need, but I'm not sure what is wrong with him so if you want this to go right I need to know." Tails informed them.

Silver sighed and looked down at the floor with a pained expression.

"I won't tell anyone else." Tails promised, setting a bag onto the table.

Shadow looked at Silver and put a hand on his shoulder, Silver slowly looked back up and stared at Shadow sadly, Shadow nodded giving him his approval to tell but only for Sonic's sake he would much rather not have the fox know but it was necessary. Silver nodded slightly in response and looked over at Tails.

"An evil dr took our brother from us and used a machine to drain him of his energy and power, but we rescued him before there was nothing left to take from him." Silver explained. "And now we are running trying to keep him from getting our brother."

Tails suddenly dropped something in shock, he stared at them speechless but quickly shook his head, getting rid of the expression that once covered his face. "That is horrible.." Tails mumbled, putting his hands on the table in disbelief. It was the weirdest thing he had ever heard but he quickly recovered and hurried to unpack the bag holding the supplies. "I will get to work right now."

Silver and Shadow were taken aback, was the fox really in that much of a hurry to help? They both watched stunned with the urgency of the fox who was gathering up the things and hurrying into another room, they slowly followed him through the house till he came to a stop near a door, the fox quickly opened it and went in leaving the door open, they both followed curiously and found it was some sort of experimenting room, they froze and Silver backed up a bit frightened of what might happen here. Shadow stood still observing their surroundings and noticed this place isn't as dangerous as it appeared, slowly he walked forward and looked around Silver trailing right behind him.

Curious they walked up to Tails who was rushing around working on something, the two paused and watched carefully as Tails hurried about the room gathering some things to a workbench. They stood there waiting for a while as Tails worked, till a frightened scream sounded and it put them on alert, quickly Shadow and Silver ran into the room where Sonic lay on the floor curled up and trembling violently, apparently he must have fallen off the couch from what they guessed was because of a nightmare.

"Sonic.." Silver said quietly, walking over to their terrified little brother.

Sonic flinched from the sudden contact of a hand on his shoulder but he continued to stare off into space unresponsive.

Silver sighed and used his telekinetic ability and set him back on the couch, Sonic continued to tremble his eyes filled with fright.

Shadow looked at Silver then at Sonic, unsure what to do he stood and watched as Silver tried to calm Sonic down.

After a few minutes Sonic slowly calmed down and looked up at them, a tear slipping down his cheek.

"Oh Sonic.." Silver sighed, putting a hand gently on his arm.

"I-I'm s-s-or-ry.." Sonic sniffed, looking away as more tears fell from his eyes.

"Hey," Silver said, reaching out a hand and gently tilting Sonic's head to get him to look at him. "It's not your fault."

Sonic stared into Silver's eyes and seemed to be reassured by those words, and holding back any other tears he pressed up against Silver's hand that was still up against the side of his head.

Silver smiled slightly and let Sonic lay his head back down on the pillow, he then stood up and pulled the blanket back over his brother's shivering form, after a moment Sonic fell back to sleep huddled up in the blanket. Silver then turned to look at Shadow who was watching the whole thing play out.

"I hope Tails can do something to help." Silver said, looking back down at Sonic. "I hate seeing him like this."

Shadow nodded in an agreement. "He will get better." He assured him.

Tails suddenly walked into the room and looked at them. "Is everything alright?" He asked, looking at Sonic.

Silver turned to look at Tails. "Yeah.." he answered. "Everything's fine."

"Just wanted to make sure." Tails said, walking to the kitchen. "I just need a quick break, but it shouldn't take too long. Only a day or two then I can test it out."

Shadow and Silver glanced at each for a second then watched as Tails got something to drink before going back to the room he came out of to get back to work.
Shadow shook his head slightly and went to keep an eye on the fox, Silver on the other hand sat down on a chair to watch Sonic and make sure nothing happened to him.
