A helpless brothers predicament

A little quarrel

So you finally caught him?"

"It wasn't difficult." Infinite replied.

"That's a lie."

"Oh like you could do any better, mephiles?" Infinite tried.

"I could have found him ten minutes earlier than you." Mephiles snapped.

"Oh please you couldn't have found a needle in a haystack." Infinite bit back.

"Both of you stop wasting your energy on each other." Eggman growled, stepping between the two. "We have other objectives than to fight amongst ourselves."

Both turned and watched Eggman walk over to the unconscious hedgehog who was being held up by a robot.

"Hmm.. injured where he is most helpful." Eggman mused, looking down at Sonic's injured leg. "Well, I guess we will have to wait on experiments for a little bit, but make sure he doesn't try and run away again."

Infinite and mephiles both nodded.

"Lock him up." Eggman ordered the robot, and watched as it marched away.

"What are we going to do in the meantime?" Infinite asked.

"Work on the other subjects." Eggman replied, walking back to his computer.

Sonic slowly opened his eyes and found he was in a cell on a hard bed, dizzily he sat up but winced and put his hand on his leg in pain, quickly and gently someone pushed him back down. Sonic opened his eyes again, ignoring the pain and looked to see a silverish hedgehog standing next to him.

"Silver.." Sonic murmured.

"Sonic," Silver replied, looking down at him. "I told you not to do it."

"You know I don't like taking orders." Sonic said with a small smile.

"And your determination will end up being the end of you if you keep running away like that." Silver sighed.

"Here will be the end of me." Sonic corrected. "I want to be free at least once in my life."

"So do I, Sonic, but it is only a dream." Silver said.

"It's not Silver." Sonic said, trying to sit up again.

Silver shook his head sadly and pushed Sonic back down.

"It was still reckless of you to run away." Silver sighed. "And they will punish you for it."

"I don't care anymore.." Sonic said, crossing his arms.

"So you say now." Silver replied. "The only reason why they haven't done anything to you yet is because of your injury but they will get to it."

Sonic didn't say anything more knowing it was true, with a sigh he stared up at the bunk above him, not really able to see the ceiling straight up from where he lay. Suddenly the door opened and two robots shoved someone inside, Sonic and Silver looked to see a mostly black hedgehog on the ground where the bots dumped him.

"Shadow!" Silver called out, heading over to him.

Sonic quickly got up and struggled over to Shadow who was now on his hands and knees.

"What happened?" Sonic asked.

"What happened? What happened?!" Shadow ground out, looking up to stare at Sonic. "You! You ran off again! This is your fault! They punished me for something I didn't do but what you did instead!" he shouted, lunging at Sonic.

Sonic fell backward onto the floor as Shadow pounced on top of him starting to punch him, Sonic held out his hands to try and fend off the blows but it only made Shadow even more furious.

"Shadow stop!" Silver ordered, trying to pull him off of Sonic. "This won't help anything!"

"He needs to learn better than to get up and leave us!" Shadow shouted, pulling away from Silver and continued hitting Sonic. "He doesn't care what happens to us!"

Sonic tried to get away as Shadow continued trying to beat sense into him, but he couldn't.

Silver, not knowing what else to do, grabbed both of them with his telekinetic ability and pulled them apart.

"Enough!" Silver shouted. "This is ridiculous! We shouldn't be fighting each other, especially since each other is all we have."

Silver then let go of them and waited to see what they would do.

Shadow stood there for a second then sighed.

Sonic stayed on the floor trembling, his eyes were closed and he was partly curled up as if protecting himself from any more attacks, but none came and he slowly opened his eyes to see Shadow walking towards him, Shadow reached towards him and Sonic flinched back but Shadow calmly grabbed his hand and pulled him to his feet.

"I'm sorry.." Sonic murmured, once he was set back on his bed. "I-I didn't mean to run away without you two.."

"It's ok Sonic we understand." Silver answered, taking a seat on the bed as well. "All of us want to get out of here badly, but we have to be patient and when the time is right we will escape.. Together."

"And it will be soon." Shadow said, leaning against the wall next to the bed.

Sonic looked at them and smiled slightly.
