"Are you sure you're fine to get back to work already?" Luna questioned quietly as she stared at Beomgyu in concern. They walked together down the hallway to join the queen and the princess for lunch.
"I'm fine. I feel well now, it was just food poisoning."
Luna hummed again as she looked ahead, placing her arms behind her back.
"I'm fine." He convinced her as he reached for her hand, holding it gently in his.
Luna was deep in thought as they approached the dining hall, her eyes falling onto the queen first.
She had thought through for a bit. She wanted to mask as if she didn't know a thing, so that the queen gets a little more comfortable with having her around.
Beomgyu pulled out a chair for Luna and she sat down with a grateful smile his way, before smiling at the princess, who gave her a small smile back.
Luna looked down at the table for a bit, before bringing her gaze back to the princess.
I have to find a way to get closer to her.
If Luna's assumptions of the queen being evil enough to kill her own kids and husband were right, the princess is probably target number one.
They didn't give Beomgyu a dose high enough to kill him, almost as if they were testing the substance on the prince.
Luna looked at the queen, giving her a small bow of her head as a sign of some sort of respect which the queen didn't acknowledge.
Luna only raised her eyebrows as the food was brought in and they were served.
She watched Sandy place a bowl of soup on Beomgyu's plate instead of the solids that the rest of the table was eating, and the prince pouted as he stared at it for a couple of seconds.
The color on his face still hadn't returned and he was still a little weak from the night before.
"Thank you." Beomgyu said softly to the maid who served him as she walked away.
Luna stared at the food placed onto his plate, and before he could grab his utensils to eat, she stopped him.
Beomgyu stared at her in confusion, wondering what was wrong.
"Wait for a bit, it's too hot."
Beomgyu stared at Luna in amusement, but Luna was looking at his food in thought.
Where could they have placed it?
"Oh yes, how are you?" Princess Ari questioned her brother, who nodded his head with a smile.
"I'm fine. I'm much better than last night. That's why I think I can eat this." He joked as he pointed at the food on Luna's plate.
"The doctor did say your stomach is weaker for the next few days, Beomgyu."
"I know." He sighed as he played with the hem of his sleeve.
Luna looked over at the food that was on the princess' plate instead, and then looked at the food on her own plate.
She didn't know what to trust now.
But wouldn't the taste be different if they placed a substance like that into their food? What if they put it in my food? There has to be some type of substance where they can mask it. Somewhere acidic.
Luna continued looking around, at the lemonade on the table, and then the orange juice, and the water.
She was so prominent in trying to know where the poison could be that she didn't notice Beomgyu calling her name.
