Beomgyu laid next to Luna, keeping his arms around her to keep her warm. She was still shaking even if she was wrapped in a tight blanket.

The doctor had already come to see her and told them that there's not much else they could do besides observe her for a while.

Beomgyu couldn't stand the idea of waiting. She could die in his arms any second, but at least her having her eyes open made him a little calmer.

He was thinking deeply as he ran his hand down her shoulder.

"Beomgyu."

He looked towards the door at the sound of his mother's voice. His eyes stayed on her as she walked into the room and the maids closed the door behind her.

He let go of Luna for a few seconds just to sit up, before pulling her against his chest again.

"I heard that Luna wasn't doing well and you wanted to stay here with her. I see that the situation is more serious than I thought. How is she doing?" She asked as she sat down on a chair near the window, looking at Luna intently.

Beomgyu stared at his mother, feeling tears in his eyes but pushing them back. "The doctor said there's nothing else we can do but wait it out. She's breathing still, but not well."

The queen hummed as she stared at Luna in seeming concern.

"I'm sure that the doctor will find something to help. He's diligently studying in his office right now." She said softly. "So don't worry too much."

Beomgyu's eyes hadn't left the queen's face, trying to see how much of her words were fake.

It still did not process in his brain that his mother might be the person who caused all of this to happen, including his father's death.

His tired gaze went to Luna, who was staring at his mother.

Her eyes were aloof, and he was sure that if there was any energy within her, she would have been glaring at her more than she is now.

"He did say to wait for a few days. That her system might digest whatever it is and break it down enough. But I don't know." He whispered, his eyes filling with tears, this time not being able to control them. "It's the same thing that was happening to father. Right before he passed. I lost him less than a month ago, I can't bear to lose Luna too."

The queen stayed quiet as she watched Beomgyu, an undecipherable emotion in her eyes.

"She will be okay." She comforted as she stood from the chair and walked over to him, placing a hand against his head, making him close his eyes. "She'll get better in no time. The doctor will figure something out, alright?"

He didn't know whether to feel repulsion or sadness once she walked into the room, and once she touched his head like the mother that she is. He didn't know where to stand anymore.

It was hard to believe that his mother would do something so horrible, but he always knew that she didn't care how far she went as long as she got what she wanted.

"There must be something in the food. I got the wine bottle in the corner to be studied." Beomgyu mumbled and the hand against his head stopped moving. "I sent it off with a guard to another doctor. Someone was trying to hurt both of us, not just Luna. And once I find whoever it is, things won't fly."

The queen went silent again, before continuing to run her hand down the back of his head.

"I don't believe there would be anyone to hurt you so easily here, especially with all of the guards around. But if you believe there's someone wanting to hurt you, then it was the right decision to get it tested."

Beomgyu kept his arms around Luna, wondering what exactly his mother was thinking. He couldn't tell if she was the bad person in this or not.

"I will be heading out and giving you guys some space to rest. I'll have the maids bring both of your food in here, you don't have to come to the dinner table." She said as she tapped his shoulder and started moving to the door.

"Mother." Beomgyu called out to her, making her stop at the doorway and look at him.

He thought for a bit before giving her a small, forced smile. "Thank you for coming to check on us."

"You're welcome." She said softly, giving him a small smile again and walking out of the room.

Beomgyu sighed, closing his eyes for a few seconds.

He was having a hard time trying to clear his thoughts.

His mother could have possibly killed his father and tried to kill him. Luna took whatever poison was in that wine and wasn't getting any better even after treatment. He was still in office until his sister's coronation, which continues to be pushed back for a reason unknown to him. There were still so many papers that he needs to go through in his office.

He didn't know what to deal with first.

(~+~+~+~+~+~+~)

Beomgyu sat at his desk as he tried to read through the papers.

Sandy was placing his and Luna's dinner onto the table in the bedroom.

He had decided to bring his work to the room so that he could take care of Luna while doing his job.

He opted on just waiting for the results of the wine to finally do something to the doctor. The receipts were in the hands of his father's guard and that was supposed to be enough to get him in trial.

"I bet Luna will be able to eat this. She's got more energy than before-"

Sandy was interrupted by the sound of Luna's voice.

"Beomgyu..."

Beomgyu's heart rose as he looked at Luna.

She hadn't said a thing since dawn, so hearing her try to speak was giving him hope that she was feeling much better.

"Luna." He said as he quickly stood up from the desk chair and walked towards her. "What is it?"

"You-you have to be king." She whispered as she stared at him.

Beomgyu furrowed his eyebrows at her words as he held her hand softly. "What?"

He spotted a tear falling from her eye, making him even more confused.

"You have to... Princess Ari... she can't do it."

"Why not?"

"You have to..." Luna's breath was haggard and she couldn't help but shake her head a little as she closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath to somehow stabilize it. "Your mother..."

Beomgyu looked at her, sadness prominent in his eyes as he gently caressed her head.

Luna stared into his eyes, tears falling out of her own. "You have to be king... I-I want you to lead. I want you to make things better, okay?"

"Why are you saying this Luna?"

"I-I might die here, and when I do-"

"Luna, stop."

"When I do... Leave the bar, okay? We all love you. And we trust you to be our king... So you have to, okay?"

Beomgyu couldn't understand why Luna was so adamant on him being the king.

She wasn't explaining the reason why his sister wouldn't be able to do it. But he knew that she was just trying to say as much as she could in the least words as possible.

"You won't die, Luna. You won't, okay? I won't let you die. You'll live and you'll be okay." He spoke softly as he placed a soft kiss on her temple.

"I know you don't want to be king... but things will be better once you're the king. You can make your own rules. You can protect us..."

Sandy looked down at the floor, nodding her head in agreement at Luna's words. Her eyes were filling with tears as she kept her hands together tightly.

"Protect you from what Luna? What's going on?"

"You can protect us, Beomgyu... So you have to."
