The prince stared at the light coming from the village as he leaned against his arms.
It was late into the night, and he knew that he needed to be up for his lessons early in the morning, but oddly enough he wanted to be seated here, looking at the small light.
It was the village bonfire.
They would have one every two weeks, just to celebrate anything. If there was a birthday, they would celebrate it extra hard during the bonfire.
The adults would drink and dance around, while the kids played with each other. All you could hear was laughter coming from them and occasional screams of delight.
Beomgyu could not help but be fascinated.
He didn't know what it felt like to have something like that.
Having a party was never something he'd experienced.
The royal family's idea of a party is planning it ahead, months and sometimes even years.
You'd have to wear the best suits and gowns, having dinner with important people with boring music in the back and multiple amounts of pastries sitting on a table that everyone was afraid to touch.
It was a little funny to the prince. The fact that the ideals were so different.
The music was faded but he could still hear it, and he couldn't resist the temptation to want to be there.
He heard a sound coming from the hallway and he quickly shut the curtains, walking over to his bed in a hurry.
The door opened right on time as Beomgyu carefully covered his head with the blanket, knowing that he was not good at faking a sleeping face.
He blinked under the blanket as he heard his suit for the morning being set down next to his breakfast table.
He calmly waited for the door to close again, before removing the blanket from his head and looking up at the ceiling.
Staring at the marble tiles that rimmed his spinning fan, he thought about what he needed to do the next morning.
The stress started piling up on his forehead as his eyebrows unwillingly furrowed.
He sat up as he turned to his side, turning on the lamp and looking at the clock on the wall.
Two hours until four...
(~+~+~+~+~+~+~)
He greeted the maids in the kitchen as they passed him an apple.
The cloak over his shoulders was a little heavy as the material was made to keep the prince warm during his dawn horse riding.
He continued walking out into the dark and his guards followed behind him.
Beomgyu covered his head with the cloak as he always did and started walking to the stables.
His horse was ready for him when he got there, making him smile a little.
The guards behind him were still in his thoughts as he cautiously thought of his next move.
He cleared his throat and got on his horse, calmly continuing on his normal route.
He tried not to look back at the guards that stood behind, trusting him to come back and to be safe. But he knew that wasn't in his plans.
He picked up his speed and took a different route this time, reaching the outskirts of the castle.
The ride wasn't long, but it felt like it was.
He looked back and saw the faint lights of the castle, making him feel his heart raise even more.
