"For you, my heart." Jay said as he placed her dish in front of her. He had made baked chicken breasts, broccoli, and mashed potatoes and it looked amazing. She smirked and thanked him continuing to watch him closely as he maneuvered around and handed everyone their plates. No matter what, she always felt herself staring at him in awe. Especially when he was being the perfect husband and father. The Beyoncé from many years ago would be so appalled to see what they've become. Jay had his flaws, but so did she. She had accepted him no matter what.
"I tell you what though... One thing I miss about not having kids is not having to make dinner all the time?" Jay said aloud making B laugh, but ultimately agree. "We used to eat rice and oven pizza for dinner everyday before we had y'all! Everything was low maintenance."
Rumi shrugged. "But, I like rice."
JJ agreed. "And we just ate an oven pizza yesterday."
"No, I said everyday. Y'all need vegetables and protein now. Y'all are growing, so you need to eat good." Jay explained. "Y'all need at least two good meals a day."
"Three." B corrected. "Don't be skipping meals just because daddy said that. Y'all need to eat."
"I said 'at least!'" He defended. "I love cooking for y'all though." He said. "It leaves us with no choice other than to eat healthier with y'all. I'm trying to get rid of my dad body."
"Don't you dare." B said finally glancing at him. He laughed at the seriousness in which she said it. "Your 'dad body' is sexy." She complemented.
"Gross." JJ groaned under his breath and Blue agreed just as quickly.
"Mommy." Blue started and prepared to change the subject back to food. "Can we start bringing lunch to school? I don't like school lunch anymore and I'm always hungry after."
B nodded. "What would you like to pack, baby?" Blue shrugged just as she always did when she was asked a question. "Like a sandwich and fruit and some snacks or like leftovers from dinner?"
"Like a sandwich."
"Oooh! I want that too, mommy." Rumi interjected. "Can we go lunchbox shopping?"
"Lunchbox shopping?" B questioned with a smirk. "Y'all are so spoiled, there is no such thing as lunchbox shopping." She laughed. "Unless... daddy is paying for it." B smiled sweetly at him.
Jay looked at all three of them who were giving him the same exact smile and shook his head. He just thought about 'ctrl+c, ctrl+v' because they literally copied and pasted all of their children. "I'll buy y'all a lunch box." He gave in with no convincing necessary. "And this better not be some quick phase you go through, y'all better pack lunch everyday."
"Do you want a packed lunch too, baby?" B asked looking towards JJ. He shrugged and nodded. He truthfully didn't mind either way, but B decided she'd pack his too just so they could all be even. She didn't want him to feel left out if their lunch was better than the school lunch.
"Y'all are spoiled." Jay said shaking his head. "All four of y'all." B gasped. "Don't act shocked, baby, you're the most spoiled out of everyone."
"That is so not true." She said with a laugh. The most spoiled was undoubtedly Rumi. They all knew that, including her. She knew that she could get anything she wanted out of them. She was secretly B's favorite just because of the special trauma bond they shared.
"I'll go to the store before the gymnastics thing tomorrow. I'll pack y'all a lunch for Monday."
"Can I come with you?" JJ asked immediately.
"I'm going early." She said trying to convince him that he really didn't want to go.
"I'll wake up." He told her. "I just want to go somewhere with you." B sighed because he was just being sweet, so she finally gave in and told him that he could join her.
