Saturday morning came around like breath of fresh air, just like they all needed, it had been such a long week for everyone. Jay had gotten up early, as he always did, and B was able to stay in bed until at least 9, not too early and not too late. She had been awake for a while, but was finally disturbed by a child knocking on her door. She called for them to come in and upon opening, Blue was revealed with a tired smile on her face. She mumbled 'good morning, mommy' and climbed up to lay across the bed with her. "Hi." B responded followed by a yawn and began to rub her head.
Blue didn't say much other than 'good morning' again, she just laid quietly with her mother and B absolutely didn't mind. It wasn't until Rumi had joined them when B had to get up. Rumi was a little chatterbox in the morning and wanted to talk about her dreams and everything else under the sun that ever crossed her mind. B stood up and headed to the bathroom, but forgot that she hadn't restocked the toilet paper in there and she couldn't always count on Jay to remember either. "Can one of y'all go downstairs and bring up some toilet paper for me?" Rumi volunteered instantly, she jumped up and raced down the stairs, almost knocking over her father once she reached the bottom.
"Damn, girl, where are you going?" He asked as he caught her in his arms.
"Mommy needs toilet paper." She explained briefly.
"Oops." He chuckled. "I meant to replace it this morning. Tell her I said 'I'm sorry.'" Rumi nodded and finished the favor for her mother, earning a sweet 'thank you' and a kiss from her.
B came downstairs about 15 minutes later and found Jay in his office with coffee in his hands.
"Baby, did you make breakfast?" B asked hopefully and made her way over to him.
Jay unfortunately shook his head causing her to let out an exaggerated groan. "I made the kids toaster waffles, except JJ, he's not even up yet."
"Did you check on him?" B frowned slightly.
"No, but he's fine." He shrugged. "Let him sleep, he deserves it for waking up on time the past few days." She laughed at that, but Jay had a point. JJ hated to wake up so early for school, so at the very least, he deserved to sleep however long he wanted on the weekends. B sat closely next to Jay on his couch and rested one leg over his.
"Did you make me coffee or anything?" She asked while she eyed him closely. She was obsessed with the man before her, it made her begin to smile until he told her that he didn't make her any coffee or breakfast.
"I can make you some right now, baby." She rolled her eyes subtly. Jay always made her coffee or cooked for her when he was up first, but seeing that he didn't do any of that today made her feel a way.
"It's fine, Jay." She mumbled and began to remove her leg from being thrown over him. He stopped her and apologized for not making her anything today. "It's fine, Jay." B repeated and smiled. "I'm serious, it's whatever. I'm not upset." She stood up and headed to the kitchen to see what she wanted. She decided to make scrambled eggs and bacon, something simple and quick.
She saw her son walking down the stairs right before she started to cook. "JJ," She called. "Come here." He immediately changed directions and headed to the kitchen to meet his mother.
"Ma'am?" He questioned.
"Good morning, rude boy." She joked. He gave her a light chuckle and repeated a sweeter 'good morning' to her. "Do you want eggs and bacon?" She offered.
He nodded his head. "Yes, please." B nodded as well and grabbed another egg from the fridge to add to the bowl. "Where's everyone?"
B shrugged. "Your sisters are probably upstairs doing whatever and your dad is in there." She said pointing in the direction of his office.
