Third

When Amity got in the shower she started to sob again, panic welling in her chest. She gently scrubbed the blood off of her and lathered as much soap as she could all over her body. She hoped this wouldn't be the end of them. She had almost lost him once, she couldn't bear to lose him again. She stayed under the stream until the water was cold before she got out and got changed. Spencer stood outside the door and frowned when he saw her, "Amity!! What the hell happened?? Oh my god, your face."

She fell into him and started crying all over, "Elena and Jeremy killed Klaus's brother. Kol almost killed me and Klaus doesn't believe I wasn't part of it. Everything feels like it's crumbling around me." Spencer frowned and stroked her hair gently. He looked around and thought of what to say. He had no idea, he was still getting used to this new world they had found themselves in. "Where is Klaus now? Maybe I can talk to him, he likes me." She wiped her face and looked up at him, "Trapped in Elena's living room. Paige is over there with Joye."

"Well, you take a moment to calm down, then come join us. I'll make sure everything is set straight." He kissed her forehead and headed down the stairs and out the front door. He rubbed his face and sighed as he walked across the lawns to his neighbor's house. He opened the door and went in, Paige turned to look at him, "Spence? What are you doing here?" He closed the door behind him as he looked around the house, "Glad there are no fights in our house. How can you afford to fix this all the time?" He walked over to the three of them.

"Hello, Spencer, come to see me caged like an animal?" He frowned at him, "No, I came to see why my sister was so beaten up and upset." Paige rubbed her arm, looking at Klaus, "He didn't hurt her... Elena and Jeremy killed his brother." Spencer held up his hand as he pointed at Klaus, "I want to hear it from him, because she's in pieces at the moment. You know, when she thought you died... It nearly killed her. She's losing it right now thinking that you hate her. She's gone against everything her friends tell her to be with you. Just a few weeks ago you promised that it was you two against the world. What happened to that?"

Klaus paced as he spoke, he sighed and turned, looking at him, "Where is she? I want to speak with her." Spencer frowned, "You're going to talk to me first." He growled and started pacing again, "I got a call from my brother saying the three of them were trying to kill him. Three. Elena, Jeremy... Amity. She was here as my brother burned." Spencer crossed his arms, "So your brother beat my sister half to death? What actual proof do you have she tried to help?" He sighed and picked Joye back up and nuzzled her as she started to cry, "I don't know what to believe."

"Believe what I said when you compelled the truth out of me." They all turned and looked at Amity standing in the doorway. She walked a bit better than when she had left, slowly healing. Her face was starting to swell a bit, "Elena didn't know I was coming over, I thought she'd want some company after the dance was canceled. Kol was here when I got here, she was asking for a truce. He denied that request and kicked the door down. I tried to stop it all. This-" She pointed to a hole in the wall, "This is where he choked me. He held me up off the floor, I knew he wanted to kill me. Over there, is the wall he threw me through that knocked me out. When I woke up he was dead."

She looked at Klaus from across the room and bit her lip. He looked at the floor and squeezed his hands together, thinking about how he should respond. He took a deep breath before holding his hand out for her. She sighed and gently took his hand, he kissed the back of her hand and handed Joye to Paige. He wrapped his arms around her and nuzzled her neck, "I'm sorry- I'm sorry love. I should have believed you." She looked back, "Can you both give us a minute? Please?" They nodded and quickly got out of there.

Amity pulled him to the table and sat down. She kept a grip of his hand, "Klaus... I would never do anything to betray you. I trust you more than anyone. I need you to give me the same trust. Joye needs her daddy, and if we can't stick together anything can pull us a part. I can't lose you too." She kissed his hand and stared at him, "I wish we could go back in time, to last night. When nothing mattered but us..." She let out a big sigh as tears filled her eyes, "I'm so sorry I couldn't save Kol. I really tried. Please don't hate me. I could not bear it Klaus." She hugged his hand to her cheek as she started to cry more.
