Chapter 27

Amity

Late in the night, I woke up. Klaus was packing as I sat up, "Klaus? Honey, what are you doing?" He stopped and looked at me, "I have to go for a little bit, I found out where the item I need is and I need to go fetch it." I frowned and winced as I moved, I was sore after turning.

"I hope you weren't just going to leave without saying goodbye to me." He paused and sighed, "Would you have been mad if I did?" I got up onto my knees and pulled him close, "You definitely would have gotten an ear full from me, love." He chuckled and kissed me.

"Wouldn't want to piss off my queen now would I?" I shook my head and giggled into the kiss, "No you would not. What happened while I was turned?" He smiled and stroked my cheek, "You showed Paige who was alpha and was very loving towards me." I blushed, "I don't remember that."

He chuckled, "it's quite common to not remember what happens when you turn. Let's get you home? I'll have to leave, I'm going to Italy. I'll be back as soon as I can." He kissed me gently and gathered his bag before picking Joye up, "There's my princess..." She whined at being woken up, "She's going to be fussy."

He handed her to me as I rubbed her butt and got her things, "I'm so sore. Turning does not feel good." He rubbed my back as we went down and out to the car. I yawned as I got Joye buckled into her car seat, "I know baby, mommy is tired too. I'll feed you when we get home."

"She is growing fast." I nod as I buckled up, "I know. I can't believe she's a month old already." He took us home and held my hand as he drove, "I'm going to leave my car with you while I'm gone. It's new and safe." I raised a brow, "You sure you want to do that?" He nodded as he pulled into the driveway.

"I'm not going to let our daughter be in anything less than safe." I blushed hard and a huge smile crossed my face when he called her 'ours'. I leaned over and kissed him, "Alright. If you're sure." We got out and he pulled Joye out as I grabbed her bag, "Daddy has to go bye-bye for a few days. Be good for mummy princess." He kissed over her face before handing her to me.

I made Joye wave when we stood on the porch, "Wave bu-bye to daddy." He smiled and kissed me, "I'll call you when I land, love." I nod and squeeze his hand, "Come back soon." He nodded back and was gone in a moment. I went inside and laid Joye down before I made Spencer a lunch for work. I went to bed after washing up.

The next morning I went down to make breakfast and noticed Spencer has forgotten his lunch, I made Matt and Jeremy each one knowing they also worked. I got Joye strapped to my chest and walked to the grill. I went in and smiled when I saw Matt and April talking, "Morning!"

Matt looked at me, "Hey, Amity. We don't open until 11." I nod and hold up the bags, "I come bearing lunches. Spence forgot his. I knew you and Jer worked." He smiled and took the bags, thanks, but Jeremy is half an hour late." I frowned, looking around.

"You sure? Because I-" I looked at April then back to Matt and tapped my nose, "Where's Spence?" Matt pointed behind the bar and I chuckled, "Spence!" He popped up, surprised, "Ames? Oh shit I forgot my lunch didn't I?" I nod and go over and hand it to him.

April started to talk with Matt again and I paused when I caught another scent, "Oh no." I turned as I heard Connor's voice, "Trust me. That's the least of your problems." I hold Joye close and curse to myself. He points a gun at all of us and then to the table, "Sit down. Sit down!" Spence and I go over as Joye starts to get fussy, "Please keep your voice down. We'll do what you say, Connor. I have my daughter with me."

He ignores me, "Gilbert give me your phone." He asks him to let April and I go and he refuses, "They have everything to do with this. Her and her father, and your friend there is a werewolf for Christ's sake. When did you trigger?" I shook my head and he slams his hand on the table making Joye jump and start to fuss more, "When did you trigger?!" I covered her ears and snarled at him, my eyes changing, "Last week."
