Chapter 6

Third

The summer went by for the most part uneventful apart from trying to locate the missing Salvatore brother. Stefan had given himself over to Klaus for the cure for Damon's werewolf bite. Elena had spent all summer giving Damon leads to where they might be but they were all dead ends. Amity was preparing for her soon arriving birth. Being eight almost nine months pregnant is not the most fun she's had. Everyone has been helping her and making sure she doesn't do too much and is comfortable. She love/hates being babied. Andie has still stuck around and is happy to help Amity when she needs to.

Ric has, for the most part, stopped mourning externally over Jenna but nobody really knows how he's coping. Probably just drowning himself in alcohol. Jeremy has spent most of his summer working at the grill with Matt. Bonnie has been with her dad's side of family...Today is a special day. It's Elena's birthday! Caroline as always is planning a party for her and making sure Elena attends. Elena probably would have a better time if she had Stefan by her side.

Amity

I was walking around the house in just a sports bra and yoga shorts and flip-flops when I heard a knock on the door. I look through the peep hole to see Elena so I open it and say, "Hey Elena! Happy birthday, girly!" She smiles and thanks me and says, "Nice outfit." I shrug and let her in as I say, "God, I've been having the worst heat flashes. This is pretty much all I can wear. What's up?" I lead her upstairs into mine and Paige's room and she says, "Sheriff Forbes found another lead, in Tennessee. I'm gonna go over to the boarding house to talk to Damon, want to come?" I nod and say, "Sure, just let me get dressed. I would ask Paige but she doesn't get up till later."

I look up at her bunk to see a single finger pointed at me. I laugh and she puts it out of sight. I throw on a white tank-top with a white and gray striped top with a pair of jean shorts. Gotta love cute maternity clothes. I keep my flip-flops on and I yell to mom as we leave, "Going out with Lena!!" She helps me into her car and we drive to the boarding house. On the way there Elena asks, "So how long until your due date?" I say, "Should be a few weeks maybe or more. I'm nervous." She nods and says, "Hey, you have nothing to worry about." I smile and I feel the baby kick.

I finally caved and found out I'm having a girl! My little Joye will enter the world soon. During the past few months, I have been reading a lot of baby books that mom had gotten me. I am set with baby toys and clothes thanks to Caroline throwing me a baby shower. Gotta love her. We pull up and I unbuckle and wait for Elena to help me out of the car. We enter the house and she puts her hair up and stands by the drinks.

"Mornin." We turn around and he is naked and covered in bubbles. Elena cuts herself off and quickly turns around while I slap a hand over my eyes. Elena says, "You heard us, you knew we were here." He looks says, "You should really learn how to knock, what if I was indecent?" I could tell he was smirking. I hear Elena throw something and after a few moments I open my eyes and shake my head at him. "You're gross." Elena pulls out a piece of paper and says, "Sheriff Forbes gave us another location to check. Memphis."

They continue to argue and soon enough we leave. Later we had to go back though, to set up for Elena's party. She was telling Caroline and Tyler about today when Tyler blurts, "Maybe he doesn't want to find him." We all look at him and Care hisses, "Tyler!" They all continue to go back and forth and I say, "I'm gonna go outside for some fresh air."

It was late and the party has started but no sign of Elena yet. Paige finally showed up and she said, "Are you sure you can handle this?" I nod and say, "I'll be fine." We danced for awhile and we saw Matt walk out. I say, "Let's go follow him he looks stoned." She laughs and nods and we go outside. We watch him for a bit and Jeremy comes up next to us. He sees Matt then yells, "What are you doing?"
