Day 19 - Red Camp

The red team members arrive at camp and see a 1x1x1m cage with 4 hens.

Mylene: "There's our prize, as promised."

Ivan: "That ought to keep us going for a few challenges."

Adrien: "Might be difficult without a rooster present."

Mylene: "Actually, hens don't need a rooster to lay eggs. We just need to keep them fed."

Adrien: "Even so, how many eggs do you expect to get by the next challenge?"

Ivan: "Ideally, enough for each of us."

Nathaniel: "That would be nice, wouldn't it? Do you know how long it takes chickens to lay eggs? Every couple of days."

Ivan: "Are you saying we won't be having eggs for breakfast tomorrow?"

Nathaniel: "With 4 chickens, 4 of us can have an egg tomorrow. At most."

Ivan crouches next to the cage and strokes the bars.

Ivan: "You'll give us plenty of eggs, won't you?"

One of the chickens pecks Ivan's finger. Ivan shouts in pain, then slams his hands on the cage, causing the chickens to fly to the other side. Ivan stands up and walks away, Mylene follows.

Nathaniel: "'Keep them fed'?"

Rose: "That's what Mylene said, yes."

Nathaniel: "With what, though?"

Adrien, Nathaniel and Rose look at each other, puzzled.

Nathaniel: (confessional) "While on paper, this reward may seem really beneficial, in practice, it'll actually take a while to bear its fruit, so to speak. Longer than I fear some of us will have unless by some miracle, our fortune keeps the way it's been going recently instead of reverting back to old habits."

Ivan and Mylene, Ivan is sitting, huffing at the base of a tree.

Mylene: "Ivan, calm down and take a breath." Ivan starts breathing more calmly. "They're definitely not going to lay any eggs if they're scared."

Ivan: "How do I get them to not be scared?"

Mylene: "Remember when we first met?"

Ivan: "I remember how terrified you were."

Mylene: "Remember how that changed when I got to see the real you? Give them a chance to see the real you."

Ivan: "Ok, I'll do that."

Ivan stands up and they walk back to the shelter.

Nathaniel: "I find it interesting how we're given chickens, but nothing to feed them."

Adrien: "We can improvise, surely?"

Nathaniel: "But for how long? How long can we expect these birds to last?"

Adrien: "Ideally, the rest of our time here."

Nathaniel: "More likely until they starve. We have nothing to feed them with."

Rose: "So, we feed them ourselves."

Nathaniel: "From our own food supply? Then we starve."

Adrien: "Not so, we'll have the eggs."

Ivan and Mylene arrive.

Rose: "At any rate, it doesn't mean anything unless we know what chickens eat."

Mylene: "Mostly plant seeds and nuts."

Rose: "What about fruit?"

Mylene: "I would expect so."

Rose runs into the bushes, everyone follows.

Nathaniel: "What do you have in mind?"

Rose: "If we pick the fruit from these trees, we'll have something to feed the chickens."

Everyone gathers fruits and nuts from the surrounding trees and return to camp.

Mylene: "I think Ivan should do this."

Ivan: "Me?"

Mylene gives the food she's gathered to Ivan.

Mylene: "Allow them to see the real you."

Adrien: "I like that idea."

Nathaniel: "Me too."

Adrien, Nathaniel and Rose give the food they've gathered to Ivan and Ivan approaches the chicken cage. The chickens, though cautious at first, eventually approach Ivan and start pecking at the food he's holding.

Ivan: (confessional) "Though I may have started on the wrong foot with these chickens, I think we can really convert this into a constant food source and with it, a decisive advantage."

MIRACLE ISLAND

Alix arrives on Miracle Island, disembarks the boat and is met with a sign.

Alix: "All right, here we are again. What have you got for me? 'On this land lies immense and incredible power. What you seek will be something of natural black. With this item, your game may be like the Eiffel Tower. But your search might as well be a needle in a haystack. Take caution for power can harm at the seams, even while it fulfils your deepest dreams.'"

Alix: (confessional; Ladybug Miraculous) "I'm grateful to my team for allowing me to come here again, but I'm not here for myself. If I can find this miraculous, I want to give it to Jalil first chance I get."

There's a collage of Alix searching throughout the island and after a few hours, she finds a black hexagonal box tangled with vines to a tree branch.

Alix: "And there it is." Alix unties the vines and releases the hexagonal black box. Alix opens the box to reveal a black ring within a green cat-shaped pawprint and a folded note. "'Congratulations, you have found the Miraculous of the Cat. This Miraculous has the power to keep you safe at tribal council should you choose to play it. In addition, if unified with the Miraculous of the Ladybug, they can ensure safety even after the votes have been read. Last opportunity to play this miraculous is final 5.'"

Alix: (confessional; Ladybug & Cat Miraculous) "When you consider that this time last week, I was only one vote from leaving the game entirely, fortunes have really turned around lately, now that I have acquired another miraculous. Jalil and I can use these to secure more allies."

Alix returns to the shore of the island and embarks the boat to return to camp.
