One must Learn from the
Stories of The Past

The beacon that Nix had spoken about was not lit that day, nor the next. It seemed as if Asgard was in no hurry to start a war and Nix suspected they instead simply cut all connection with Jotunheim, just as they had before.

"Of course, it might be that The Allfather is struggling with the other realms, now that they have seen his true colors and been reminded how he came to sit on his throne," Nix said, standing by her window as Loki sat in the nest.

"I wish we had a way of checking," Loki said, leaning over the soft edge as he looked at Nix, "to know how much time we have left before the next big event." Nix thought about that, looking at Loki with a curious gaze. "... Are you up for a field trip?"

Loki blinked confused, but thought about it and nodded. "Sure, if we are not going too far," he was still a bit nervous about walking around. Nix walked over to him and held out a hand, smiling. "Even if we get there by teleportation?" She asked, and when she saw the face he made she stroked his cheek. "I'll be more careful this time," she promised.

Loki sighed then, and nodded, taking her hand and got up. He was wearing more normal clothing today, and so he had no need to change before the trip. Nix pulled him up softly, guiding him out of the nest and to a more clear area, where she then took both his hand in hers and started her spell.

It was slower this time, and Loki saw more of how her magic worked. He saw how the air around them started moving, getting misty, and then how the mist moved together into droplets. The water drops got bigger and bigger, and started connecting in lines around them, making familiar magical figures and some unknown ones.

He then saw how her eyes lit up, the light flowing through the water, turning it to ice and then how the ice conducted her magic, strengthening it and fulfilling the circle, which completely took hold of the two of them and teleported them away. The feeling of being transported through space like this reminded Loki of traveling through the Bifrost, except it felt a lot more raw, powerful but kind of unsafe, and then he was back where Nix had teleported him the first time.

"The temple?" He asked, feeling a shiver go up his back as he hugged himself, closing his eyes as if he could block the memories by cutting off his sight of the place. "Yes, I know, and I'm sorry... Here." He then felt her pick him up, making him do a surprised yeep and hold onto her. "We are going to the lower levels, they won't bring back bad memories since you have not seen them before, so hold on, okay?"

He nodded and held himself into her, shaking slightly as he tried to control his breathing. "... I'm sorry for acting like a child, I really should-" "Hush," she said, kissing his forehead, "you just went through something terrible, Loki, you are allowed to act childish for a while if that is what you need. Besides your behavior, don't scream child to me, adults act like this too sometimes."

Loki held onto her, giving a shuddering laughter that was close to a cry. "What did I ever do to deserve you?" He asked, feeling tears in his eyes again. "You were true to yourself and true to me," she simply answered as she stopped moving and lowered him down. "You can open your eyes now." And so he did.

The room was a lot more like a cave than the other rooms, reminding him more of how Laufey castle looked then Nix's as the rocks were dark and sharp. There was no kind of window, and the only entrance to the cave seemed to be behind them.

The room was dark, but not pitch black, some ice crystals sticking through the ceiling and growing down the edges of the wall and while the root-like crystals didn't glow, it did let the light from the room above shined through, and Loki realized they were the roots of the Yggdrasil from the room above.
