Chapter 16: Reflect

Soundwave landed gracefully onto the floor, quickly scanning around for the spark signals. Illusion fell kind gracefully until Shockwave fell on top of her with a loud thump. "《OW!》" Illusion yelled as Shockwave was on top of her. "/Both of you: Quiet!/" Soundwave whispered. Illusion pushed Shockwave off her as Soundwave continued observing around. "We're you able to locate the signals, Soundwave?" Shockwave asked as Illusion turned on her headlights. "/Nothing yet./" Illusion looks around as Shockwave and Soundwave are trying to find a light switch. "《Ugh- this is stupid. What if it's a trap!?》" Illusion yelled, frustrated. "It's not. I already confirmed that these are real sparks." Illusion scoffed as she started looking into the cells. "Illusion. Your behavior is illogical." Shockwave yelled. Illusion turned around ,glaring at him. "《Oh really!?》" She dug her digit against his chassis. Soundwave quickly got in between them two. "/Stop now. Illusion: What is your problem with him!?/" He yelled. Illusion looks away, angry. "《My problem is that we're trusting him. Shockwave may be smart, but you don't know him well.》" She yelled. "/Yes I do!/" He yelled back. Illusion rolled her optics as she pointed at him. "《No you don't! You don't know what's he's done to me! He-》" "/Left you for scrap!?/" Soundwave finished. Illusion stepped back, shocked. "/Illusion... I always knew. I knew from the beginning. Even so, why do you think I tried to overthrow him so many times back then?/" He asked. Illusion was stunned but quickly connected the pieces. She recalled the memories she had of them whenever she witnessed their rivalry. She found it confusing why her two friends hated each other. What confused her was, what changed? What changed Soundwave to start liking him again? "《Then why are you with him? If you knew so clearly what he did, why suddenly the change of spark?》" She asked. Soundwave looks down, recalling an early memory during the war.

"/I hope you get eaten by scraplets, you jerk!!!/" Soundwave yelled at Shockwave. Shockwave glared back at him, his servos clenched. "I hope you get fragging injured during your mission!" He yelled back. Soundwave glares at him as he walks away. Illusion rolled her optics as she pushed them both away from each other. "《Cmon, you guys.》" Illusion spoke. Soundwave looks away. "/I just refuse to believe you were friends with that weirdo./" Soundwave sneered. He was proud of himself. "《Cmon Soundwave, everyone deserves a friend. Even him.》" Illusion pointed towards Shockwave, who seemed angry at this entire conversation. "/Whatever. I'll mess up his mission later./" Soundwave smirked at the idea. "《Please don't.》"

Soundwave trembled as he held his spark. Rumble was dead. He died because of him. He died because he didn't properly eject him. He was so low on fuel. He let out another sob as he heard Frenzy's shrieks as she saw her twin explode in front of her. Soundwave deserves this. He deserves to have his cassettes hate him. To yell at him for killing Rumble. Starscream had taken the cassetes away from him, knowing their comments would just worsen his state of mind. He and Megatron made sure to check on him and leave energon by his door. Even KnockOut made his favorite energon sweets. But he doesn't deserve their sympathy. All he wanted was Illusion to be back, but she was gone. Soundwave have never felt so compelled to end his online right then and there. A small knock was heard from his door. Soundwave didn't answer, curling himself into a ball. The door unlocked, surprising Soundwave. Shockwave stood by the door, a small gift on his hand. "/I thought I locked the door.../" He yelled. Shockwave moves towards him, handing something to him. "You aren't the only one who knows to unlock doors." Soundwave glared at him as he pushed his servo away with the gift. "/save your pity..../" He spoke. Shockwave sighed heavily as he wrapped his arms around him. "/What are you doing!? Let me go-/" "Studies have shown that physical affection can help someone when they're upset." Soundwave froze. "/w-what?/" He whispered. Soundwave wrapped his servos around him, feeling tears running down his face. He cried into his arms as Shockwave held him gently. "I am sorry for your loss. It was not your fault..." He whispered gently. Soundwave couldn't believe it... He was being comforted by this fragging cyclops who hurt her friend. He's not falling for his act. He'll probably take advantage of him and- "I know you hate me... but I don't hate you. No one deserves to be hated except me. I deserve to be hated. I betrayed my only friend for useless data and got her killed. You have every right to hate me... I just wished I did something different." Soundwave looks up towards Shockwave. So he did have emotions. And he hated himself. Soundwave could see it in his eyes. Shockwave was broken inside, feeling like a failure. Soundwave quietly embraced, his entire view of him suddenly changing.

Soundwave looks back at Illusion, seeming her eyes filled with anger, betrayal, and.... realization. Illusion looks away from him. "《I thought so...》" Illusion spoke. "《You just like him for having a large-》" She wasn't able to finish her sentence as something attacked her from behind. Webs were grabbing her by her arms as she was lifted higher. "/Illusion!!!/" Soundwave yelled. Arachnid appeared in her spider form, forming more webs. "《Scrap!》" Illusion yelled from above. Shockwave raised his gun arm toward her, aiming for the webs. He fired, cutting most of the webs that held her. "《OH SCRAAAAPPPP!》" Illusion fell on top of Soundwave. "/Illusion: Are you okay!?/" Illusion nodded as Shockwave fired at Arachnid. "《HEY! Don't hurt her you-》" A blast suddenly hit them from behind. Both Soundwave and Illusion turned around. They both stayed frozen as they watched someone emerge from the dust. It- It looked like Soundwave but different paint job. Shockwave quickly recognized him. First, the humans humiliate him, and now they prove to be smarter by accomplishing his failed project. "Everyone..."
