Chapter 18: Search and Destroy (2)

Illusion grabbed Arachnid from above before throwing her straight at Soundblaster. "《I'm getting sick of this!》" She yelled. Soundwave still had his comm open, talking with Shockwave. "/C'mon Shockwave, I'm sure you'll find a cure soon./" He spoke softly, trying to encourage him. Illusion fell back as Arachnid tackled her. "《A LITTLE HELP HERE!?》" She hissed. Frenzy and Rumble covered Arachnid's eyes, trying to block her vision. She stumbled back as both Frenzy and Rumble got off. "Weee!" They yelled together. Illusion grabbed them quickly before they were hit with a sound blast. "/You mother-/" Soundwave tackled Soundblaster as Illusion recovered. "《You two okay?》" She looked down on the twins. "We're fine." Rumble said. Illusion set them both down before getting lifted up. "Illusion!" Frenzy yelled. She tried pulling her down by her hand but instead was pulled up with her. Rumble grabbed her by her pedes but soon followed behind. "Carrier, help!" Rumble yelled. Soundwave watches them get lifted by Arachnid's webs, panicking. He deployed Lazerbeak and Ravage to help them. Lazerbeak quickly flew through the webbing, shooting each of them. Arachnid quickly pounced on Illusion, her jaws snapping at her. Illusion grabbed both of her fangs as Frenzy and Rumble grabbed by her exhaust pipes. "《Both of you let go!》" Illusion yelled as she tried getting Arachnid off her. "But-" "《LET GO OR I'LL GET SOUNDWAVE TO SPANK YOU TWO!!!》" She yelled. Both twins looked at each other before letting go, landing on Ravage's back. Illusion quickly pulled one of the fangs out, using her other servo to grip one of her front legs. "《Hey! I need help up here, Soundwave!》" She looks down, seeing Soundwave pushing Soundblaster down. He stabbed through his chassis, his servo searching for the spark chamber. "/Where is it?/" Soundwave felt the heat from the spark chamber before gripping it. "/I found it!/" He yelled. He ripped it out, unknown fluids and wiring coming out as Soundwave held the spark chamber in his servo. It glowed weakly as Soundwave held it gently. It sent a quick pulse, trying to keep itself alive. Illusion felt something pass through her spark. She sent a pulse back, waiting for a response. It responded back. Illusion tried sending another pulse, failing to notice the leg that lunged from behind.

Shockwave kept reading through Arachnid's files, trying to find a cure. He quickly stopped as he read something about the spark. "The spark holds the answer..." He whispered. He heard the sound of a rifle reloading, quickly turning around. He was shot by his shoulder, causing him to fall behind. He gripped his shoulder as he watched Silas aim at him with a cybertronian rifle. "So you're Shockwave, huh? I expected you to look smarter." He spoke bluntly. Shockwave scoffed. "Only a fleshing like you would say something like that!" He raised his modified servo at Silas but let out another grunt of pain as he shot him again. "It'd be wise if you stand down." He warned. "To a fleshbag? Never." Shockwave tried attacking him again. Silas shot him by the shoulder before landing two more blows on his arm and knee. Warning signs started popping out in his hud. Shockwave could feel his spark beginning to burn out as more shots were aimed at him. He gripped onto the wall, trying to stand up. "You won't get away with this...." He hissed. Silas laughed as he prepared to shoot again. "I'm sure that would sound great once I replay it to your friends..." He smirked. Shockwave felt so much pain run through his systems. Warning signs kept popping up, and his systems started to shut down. He gently accepted his fate, hoping he would resign to the well of sparks already.

But then the thought of Soundwave being alone popped up. He remembered how broken Soundwave was when he thought he lost Rumble. The thought of seeing his poor sparkmate alone, mourning over him burned through his processor. His optic turned red as he started getting up. Screw his own death. He was NOT going to leave Soundwave alone, suffering on his own again. He quickly raised his fist, aiming straight at Silas. This bastard is going to die tonight.

Outside, Megatron grabbed multiple drones from his pedes as StarScream crashed nearby. He quickly ran over to him. "StarScream, you have to retreat. You're too damaged." He covered an injury by his chassis. "I'm fine!" He pushed the servo off him. He got up before Megatron pulled him back. "You're not going out there in that state!" He yelled. "You don't control me Megatron. Not anymore..." StarScream spoke as he quickly took off. Megatron sighed heavily as Optimus stood beside him. "Partner troubles?" He asked. Megatron scoffed. "We're not even official, Prime." He grumbled. Optimus grabbed a nearby drone as Megatron continued shooting. "The problem is, Megatron, that you're still stuck in the past." Optimus spoke. Megatron ignored his comment as he threw a couple of drones across the battlefield. "That's not my problem. My problem is everything is changing and I'm being left behind..." Megatron confess. Prime sadden a bit by his words. "I know what you mean. We don't exactly belong here anymore..." Optimus admitted. Megatron continued shooting more drones away as he continued. "I don't want everything to keep changing. I wish things went back to the way they were. When Cybertron was around, when we didn't get dragged into this war, when we were happier-" He cursed himself for letting all of this happen. His pride got the better of him, and with that, he lost his home, his family, and possibly his friends. Too distracted by his past actions, he wasn't able to notice the missile that ThunderCracker launched in his direction. "MEGATRON!" Prime yelled. He quickly jumped in front of him, letting the missile hit him instead. Prime shut his optics, waiting for the impact.

Prime opened his optics, seeing Megatron grabbing the missile. Megatron threw the missile to the side as he glared back at Optimus. "DON'T DO THAT EVER AGAIN!" He yelled. Optimus lowered his helm in shame. "I couldn't lose you, Megatron. Not again." Megatron sighed heavily as he hugged him.

"But I don't want to lose you too..."
