kaia and chloe both get progressively drunker throughout the night, and the triplets cut the girls off a little after midnight as they're stumbling around and almost breaking things.

"are you ready to go home yet?" matt asks kaia loudly over the sound of the music and all the people, leaning down to her ear level.

"take me home, my knight in shining armour!" kaia latches onto matt's side and he laughs, holding her up and guiding her towards the door.

chris helps chloe as nick gathers nate and all six of them head out, nathan says goodbye to amanda and leaves her with some of her girlfriends he knows she'll be safe with.

nick hugs zeke goodbye on the way out and he tells him to let him know if the girls get home safe later.

they make it outside and to the car, kaia gives up walking and slumps to the ground, laying down on the front lawn next to the road.

"that looks like so much fun!" chloe announces, practically jumping out of chris' arms and tumbling to the ground to lay down next to kaia.

"no, girls, get up. we have to go home." matt laughs and gestures for them to stand up.

chris manages to pick chloe up and get her into the backseat of the car after much giggling and struggling on her part.

"baby, get up." matt kneels down next to kaia and sits her up.

"i just love you so much, matt. you know that?" she leans in for a drunk hug and he takes the opportunity to lift her up and into the passenger's seat of his car.

"i know, let's go home, okay?" he laughs and shuts the car door, walking around to his side after chris, nathan, and nick had all gotten into the back after chloe.

"i'm gonna sleep so well tonight." kaia slurs, rolling down her window and leaning her head on the edge.

matt smiles and starts the car, carefully maneuvering out of the busy road and onto the main street on the way back to his house.

matt drives down the empty road, loving that there's no traffic because it's almost 1am.

kaia is in her own little world with the wind blowing in her face, the quiet music in the car making it that much better because matt agreed to put on her playlist if it meant she wouldn't be difficult to get to bed later.

she drunkenly sings along to the music, mostly songs off of billie's new album that she and nick have been obsessed with.

bet i could change your life. you could be my wife. could get into a fight, i'll say you're right, and you'll kiss me goodnight. i waited on the corner 'til i saw the sitter leave. was easy getting over and i landed on my feet. i came in through the kitchen lookin' for something to eat, i left a calling card so they know that it was me.

even in her tipsy intoxicated state, matt couldn't get over how good kaia looked at this moment. the wind blowing her hair around gracefully, her singing the lyrics to THIS song, and her makeup perfectly worn in to look as perfect as she always did.

he blushed and pushed the thoughts out of his head, just needing to get home and get her to sleep.

"the cops around the corner stopped me when i tried to leave. they told me i was crazy and they knocked me off my feet. they came in through the kitchen lookin' for something discrete." kaia sang the lyrics at matt, he laughed and tried to ignore her to the best of his ability.

nick and chloe both mumbled the lyrics along with her, but kaia was the most awake and managed to sing every lyric without messing up despite being drunk.

they finally made it back to the house as if right on cue as true blue was ending.

kaia took it upon herself to get out of the car without help, matt hurried around to help her walk in so she wouldn't trip.

chris successfully got chloe inside and up to his room, nick and nate slept in nick's room.

matt practically had to carry kaia upstairs, she stumbles into his bedroom and slams the light switch on, he closed the door behind them.

"do you have my pyjamas here?" kaia asks, stumbling as she begins trying to pull her dress off.

"careful. i'll get you some." matt laughs and gets her to sit on the edge of the bed.

he pulls the dress up and over her head, throwing it onto the floor next to her overnight bag.

matt turns around to grab her some comfortable clothes out of his dresser, turning back to see her standing up and struggling with her bra clasp.

she manages to get it off and tosses her bra onto the floor, matt swallows the lump in his throat and ignores the fact that his stunning girlfriend is practically naked infront of him.

he snaps out of it and hands her the tshirt and pair of pyjama pants he had grabbed for her. kaia smiles and grabs the shirt out of his hands, pulling it over her head and her arms properly through the arm holes.

"don't act like you've never seen me naked, silly." kaia laughs and stumbles over to matt's mirror.

"this is practically torture for me, you know that?" he sighs and changes into a sleep shirt and boxers himself.

"why?" she brushes out her tangled hair and starts cleaning off her makeup with a wipe out of her bag.

"because you're drunk, so i can't do anything." matt plops down onto the edge of his bed waiting for her to be ready for bed.

"lameeee." kaia rolls her eyes and throws out the dirty makeup wipes after getting her face completely clean.

"we can't do anything while you're drunk. it's not right." matt scootches back to his side of the bed and opens up the blanket to welcome her to lay down.

"i knowwww." she whines and climbs into bed next to him after stumbling to turn off the light switch.

"you'll survive for one night." matt speaks, kissing her forehead and pulls her into his side.

"i guess i have to." kaia breathes out deeply, an arm and a leg across matt.

one of his arms is wrapped around her, the other is resting on the side of her waist.

"didn't want to wear the pants?" he notices she's in only her underwear and the tshirt.

"makes it harder to go to the bathroom tomorrow morning." she shakes her head no.

"goodnight, love." matt kisses her hairline, holding her tightly and feeling like he's the only one capable of protecting her from harm.

"love you." kaia yawns as she drifts off to sleep, happy and safe in his arms.
