We're sitting in Nikolai's room when his little sister runs into the room. "Dimi!" He lifts her up and hugs her tightly. "How's my precious girl? Fought any peasants lately?" Katerina laughs and and tells her animatedly how she bought new dresses and crowns.
As well as how she made a little boy cry when they were out shopping. Dimitri praised her for it and then got scolded by Nikolai. Which then led on to Nikolai getting scolded by his sister making him apologize to my brother. After Nikolai apologized little Katerina walks up to me and extends her hand.
I kissed her knuckles and bowed my head. "Your highness, here's a gift from your loyal friend." I hand her thirty dollars and she smiled so brightly. "And this is why you twins are my favorites. Bye now!" She runs out of the room.
"Stop giving her money she uses it on buying real swords, crowns, and dresses." Nikolai says as he rubs his forehead. "What does she need swords for?" Nikolai sighs and tells us about how she's greatly inspired by the queen of hearts, especially when she says "off with their heads!" I burst out laughing.
Katerina would be a danger if she was actual royalty. "Let's go out and do something all of us, including the girls." Nikolai says and I just know it's because he can't be away from Delilah for five minutes.
I was excited about the idea but it dims down when I look at my brother. He's staring at the floor And then looks at me as if he sensed me staring at him.
"Yea sure." He says and I can't help but feel like something is bothering him. Dimitri became even quieter since Olivia passing. Even more when he's around the group.
Nikolai stands up after receiving a text "Delilah said her and Cynthia are going to have a movie marathon and to pick up food and snacks."
We all head to the store and get the girl's favorite snacks plus our favorite snacks. "Hey I think I'm just going to head home." Dimitri says beside me and I shake my head.
"No you're coming, please?" He sighs and continues scanning the items. We pay and head to the car. Nikolai parks in Delilah's driveway and we wait patiently for someone to open the door.
The door is opened by the doctor who attended to my father's injuries multiple times. her eyes widen when she sees me and Dimitri, "oh umm Nikolai Delilah's upstairs with Cynthia. And you boys are?"
I smile and hold out my hand to shake, "I'm Aleksandr Cynthia's boyfriend and Nikolai's and Delilahs best friend." She smiles and shakes my hand. Dimitri shakes her hand "Dimitri, I'm Delilah's friend." She nods and smiles softly.
"Come in. I'm so glad delilah made such a great friend group. No wonder she's so happy to attend school now. Oh! Come here." We follow her into the kitchen and I smile at how homey her house feels.
