Red, there's red everywhere. Her blood is on my hands and I fucking hate it. I'm hyperventilating as I put pressure on her wound. "Somebody help me!" I yell and Nikolai curses and presses on her wound.

I look around the room searching for my brother, I don't think I'll be sane if he's hurt. He stands up and places nova down and quickly heads my way checking Cynthia's pulse.

"She's breathing she's okay, I promise she's going to be okay." He's looking into my eyes and I nod trying to calm myself.

Cynthia is unconscious, her beautiful eyes are closed and I'm in a state of panic I've never been in before. Dad comes bursting in with Delilah's mom and I scream at them to help Cynthia. Yes she'll be fine Delilah's mom is a surgeon she knows what to do.

"Someone call the ambulance or do something please! She can't die on Me." I don't care if I'm fucking begging, my precious girl is dying. I can feel it.

Dad curses and Delilah's mom instantly runs over and checks on Cynthia. "We need to move her now!" I see it, she's panicking and that makes me feel hopeless.

" Aleksandr listen to me carefully. We're going to lift her up, when we do you have to keep pressing on her wound. Someone go Turn the car on, quick before she loses more blood than she already has."

Delilah's mom shouts the order and on the count of three we lift her up and I press on Cynthia's wound. My dad quickly walks to the car.

We place her carefully in the back seat. "The hospital is too far she won't make it." Delilah's mom says her voice cracking and her hands start to shake. She's beginning to panic and I'm finding it difficult to breathe.

"our base, it's closer. Dimitri you're the fastest driver." Dad says and we take off, Dimitri is driving while dad is calling mr. Mikhailov and Mr. Romani. Fuck you cant die on us Cynthia. Her dad. All I can think about is her dad. I promised I'd keep her safe and I failed.

Nikolai's dad and Cynthia's come running out with a gurney as well as nurses. "Oh god. Cara Mia you're going to be okay, oh god Cynthia."

Her dad says with a shaky voice. We help Natalia get Cynthia into the gurney. She gets on top of Cynthia shouting orders at the nurses and I watch as they work on cynthia taking her away from me.

I stare down at my hands and shirt that's stained with her blood. I'm breathing harshly and begin to wipe her blood on my shirt trying to get it off my hands.

"Dimitri comes in front of me grabbing my hands. "Hey come on let's get you cleaned up. She's going to be fine Alek." Dimitri says with a shaky voice. He's staring at me and I break down. Dimitri embraces me and I break down in the comfort of my brothers arms.

"What if she dies, what will I do?" Dimitri shakes his head. "She's a fighter she won't die, don't say that." Dimitri is rubbing my back and walks me to the bathroom.

He cleans my hand scrubbing them under the water. He shuts the water off and dries them, they're still a little pink. I can't unsee that image of Cynthia looking lifeless in my arms when I carried her to the car. So much blood. I feel numb, Cynthia is my light, without her I'm fucking lost.

Someone enters the restroom "Hey look at me." I look up at dad whose eyes are glossy. He lifts my shirt up and puts a new one on me. He then wipes my tears. "Thank you for helping me." Dad pulls us into an embrace and I cry into his chest.

"It's going to be okay boys, I promise." I breathe in trying to calm my nerves down.

Dad has never broken a promise to us. Dimitri also promised she'd be fine earlier. The two people I look up to have never broken a promise to me and I choose to believe them in this moment.

When we exit the restroom I see Cynthia dads sitting on a chair when he sees me he stands up and walks towards me. "Are you okay?" He checks me for signs of injury. "She pushed me off of her. I swear I tried to protect her. I'm sorry, I'm really sorry." He sighs and hugs me.

"Stubborn Cynthia, it's the Italian in her. She couldn't handle you getting hurt, that's why she pushed you. It's not your fault alek." I don't understand, why isn't he blaming me.

I couldn't keep her safe, it's my fault she's in this condition. "Let's sit you down, I'll go get you water yeah?" I sit down and watch as Delilah gets stitched on her arm.

Dimitri sits next to me and holds my arm. It's beginning to turn into hours and still nothing. Cynthia's dad is pacing back and fourth getting restless and I see the panic in his eyes.

I close my eyes and lean my head on Dimitri's shoulder. Three hours have passed and finally I hear a door open. I sit up and look at Delilah's mom. She looks tired, "she's okay. She made it out, we have to keep her here though she hasn't woke up, as she's extremely weak since she lost too much blood."

"The nurses will let you guys know when we can go in to see her. But she's in the clear for now. She needs to just wake up now."

I sigh and hug her, "thank you." She hugs me tight and rubs my back. She talks with Cynthia's dad for little bit and then she walks to dad and when he hugs her she starts crying. "She died on me for a while I couldn't bring her back, I've never been so scared." She whispers and my heart drops. I don't think she meant for me to hear that but I did.

I walk out the building Dimitri behind me. I head to the nearest trash can and throw up. "Gross." I flip Dimitri off and look up at him. "She's okay." I say and he nods as he stares at me. "I promised you she'd be okay." I nod and walk to sit against a wall. The cold cement grounds me.

"Is this what it felt like for you?" He sighs and shakes his head. "No. I didn't have Olivia dying in my arms. I did feel sadness for some time, I still do once in a while.

I was just getting to love Olivia."

"With you and cynthia, I'm afraid if one of you goes the other would soon follow. And that terrifies me Aleksandr." I let out a humorless laugh and turn my head towards Dimitri. "You'll be fine with out your little brother." He glared at me. He's older by five seconds which technically makes me the youngest.

"Not fucking funny." He shakes his head, "I'd have to off myself as well, wherever you go I'll be right behind you even in fucking death. You're my twin."

He's right I can't live without her, if Cynthia ever dies I'd follow her no matter what, the same goes for my brother. I can't live in a world without Dimitri. If we entered this world together, then we go out together.

"The same goes for you Mitri. So don't fucking die, I'll haunt you in the after life." He rolls his eyes. "I'd hope once dead you'd be less annoying." I punch his arm and he smiles. "Just kidding."

Authors note: I loved writing how Dimitri takes care of Aleksandr. The relationship between them is important in this book because my babies are going to go through it.

This book is showing the backstory of Dimitri character, so when his book comes out we know why he is the way he is.

I hope you guys are enjoying this book so far.
