Chapter 77: Operation in Motion

***Amaya's POV***

The kids had woken up. It was a good thing that they were chained up too, so else we would have had a major problem.

They were crying out for the special 'candy' that made them addicted. They were going through some harsh withdrawal symptoms as they shouted and begged us for the candy that they thought would relieve the pain.

Usopp, 'Nami', and I were at a loss of what to do. Even with my medical knowledge, I'm stuck without knowing the exact details of what happened to them.

"What should we do?" Nami's voice rang out from Sanji's body in worry.

"We've got no choice." Usopp said, readying his slingshot. "We should just let them sleep it off! I'll use it again! Special Attack-Sleep Star!"

A blue mist covered the area that contained the kids; however there was no effect on the ones who were already awake.

"No way!" Usopp shouted. "Sleep Star didn't work?!"

"Oh no! What should we do now?!" 'Nami' questioned.

I shook my head unsure. Really what can we do?

The large blonde boy was struggling with his chains, making some of the chains start to come apart. Luckily, he and the others fell back asleep before they could fully break out of them.

"They fell asleep at last." Usopp mumbles.

"Chi!" She sighed in relief, earning a head pat from me in agreement.

"But it didn't work as well as before." 'Nami' comments.

"They are starting to build up an immunity to it, or the drugs that are already in their system are starting to mess with its effectiveness. We need to prepare something in case it doesn't work next time." I explain.

"Yeah, we're gonna have a problem next time they wake up." Usopp agreed.

After some time, the kids started to stir again. They kids all started to call out to us for help, wanting candy.

"I guess the withdrawal symptoms are way too painful!" Usopp speaks.

"Then what should we do?!" 'Nami' questions in return.

At this point, it wasn't just the large kids who were showing the symptoms. Even the little kids who weren't tied up are starting to go crazy.

"Just do everything we can! I'm counting on you, Sanji! Ama!"

"I'm Nami!" She snaps.

"Oh, that's right. Damn, you look so dependable on the outside!" Usopp laments, earning a snicker from Chi on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry!"

The kids started to act more like crazed zombies only instead of brains they were craving the 'candy'. They started to swarm in our direction.

"Ahh! Here they come! Can I...Can I attack them now?!" Usopp panics. "They're like monsters!"

"No! Don't be ridiculous, they're just kids!" 'Nami' shouts before hitting him over the head with her clima rod.

"Be glad she hit you Usopp. I was about to hit you myself for that suggestion. Try to capture them."

Some of the larger kids started to throw around industrial pipes that were laying around the abandoned lab.

"But we can't just run around like this!" The long-nose protested.

"Shirolololo." A new voice joined the party from behind us.
