***Amaya's POV***
"The tension is so big you could cut it with a knife!" The announcer wasted no time, commenting on the start of the main event. "One wrong move could send them hurtling to their doom! Any of these fighters could take home the prize, but the rest will be leaving in tears, if at all!"
No one moved at first. Rebecca readied her sword as Diamante kept his casually leaning against his shoulder. Meanwhile, I didn't bother to pull mine out as of yet. Sabo slightly tightened the grip on the metal pipe he brought, making me almost laugh as I nearly forgot he still fought with a pipe like back in the old days. Ace kept his hands in his pockets as his hat continued to hide his face.
"What's our play Firefly?" He questioned, glaring in Burgesses direction under the rim of his hat.
"Play?" I hum behind my mask before a smile forms. "Just that. Let's play the game, and when we win, it's showtime."
Sabo and Ace both nod in agreement. They are rather tense for a game, but it can't be helped. After all, Sabo won't be gaining a devil fruit, so he's having to rely on what he's learned after all these years.
Ace on the other hand was about to make a huge statement to the Blackbeard pirates, along with the marines. I was as well for that matter. Heck, I couldn't wait for the finale!
"Who is gonna make the first move?" The announcer spoke yet again. "It's Burgess! And he's flying straight at Lucy!"
Sabo dodged gracefully, jumping to an outer ring in the fighting tournament arena. He took off into a sprint along the edge, daring the fighting fish to make a move.
I chuckle. "Well, he works fast. Guess I'll help out. Don't have too much fun, Freckles." I jump to another outside ring before also running to lure the fighting fish to reveal themselves.
Judging by the announcer's words and the sounds of confusion from the audience, they were unsure of what our plan was.
A fighting fish popped out of the water with a number two etched on its face. Aiming for Sabo, the fish was left disappointed as he was able to dodge.
"Not that one." I hear the blonde comment with the rumble fruit.
Another fish wasted no time, going after him from behind with a number six on its forehead. However, its attempt was just as useless as Sabo backflipped over it, checking its back for a prize chest in the process.
"This one's a dud too."
A horrid laugh sounded. "Trying to lure out the one with the prize on its back, Straw Hat? That's clever!" Burgess acknowledges.
What is with this guy? One second he's smart enough to read through the plan, but he's still too stupid to realize that that isn't Lu in that disguise. All around, he's irritating.
Apparently, I wasn't the only one thinking that since a fighting fish with the number three went to attack the bulky male. Burgess punched it in the tooth, stalling its forward progress. The fish then just rolled back into the water after the stalemate.
"Oh, yeah! I gotta admit, this is fun as hell!" He kept yapping.
"Of course it is!" Diamante spoke adamantly. "'Cause I'm the one running the show! Here in the Corrida Colosseum, I use every tool at my disposal to give the audience the time of their lives!"
I rolled my eyes as a fighting fish went after me with the number two. These fish are more entertaining than that showboat. Sparking a harsh amount of electricity, the fish went down in a sparking fit before hitting the water. It quickly floated back to the top of the water.
