Chapter 79: A Bitter-Sweet Decision

***Amaya's POV***

"Mocha! Help us get the candy!" The children yell as Mocha and I are dashing and hovering away.

We were multitasking, running from the kids and headed towards building R for our escape.

"Stop! You can't eat it all!" Another child shouted.

"I know it's hard, but you can't have it!" Mocha shouted back at them.

Behind the group of stampeding children behind us were Robin, Nami, and Chopper.

"Cien Fleurs!" Robin calls, wrapping up half the group with arms.

Those who got wrapped up fell, no longer able to make chase.

Nami stepped in front of the other half, ready to slow them down herself.

"Chopper-chan! We won't give up! We won't let them have the candy no matter what!" Mocha declared, earning a grin from me.

"Of course we won't. Don't worry Mocha. We'll keep them safe." I agreed.

Nami slowed down the incoming group of giant children with a dense cloud.

"This is nothing!" The blonde giant boy yelled, ripping the cloud out of his way.

"Milky Ball!" Nami called out her attack, stopping them once more.

"Again?!" A child complained.

"This is getting nowhere!" Nami laments. "How far do Ama and Mocha have to run?"

She's right though. We need to change the situation somehow.

"Candy!" The blonde boy knocked Nami to the side. He was about to tackle Mocha before a pair of giant hands wrapped him up.

"Go ahead while we hold them!" Chopper called.

We continued. "Hang in there Mocha." I encouraged. "The others are stalling them while Chopper helps them get the sedatives." Hopefully, we could hold out until then.

We continued down the long hallway before we reached a large staircase. Mocha was breathing heavily as we descended.

"Where should we go?" She asks between pants. "I don't know which way I should go anymore!"

"Candy!" A new group of children came from an unexpected direction. They attempted to wrestle the large candy out of my arms before Mocha intervened.

Chopper and the others caught up at the top of the stairs. "Oh no! If they get the candies, we have to start all over again!" Chopper worried.

I looked at the candy in my arms before looking back at the children. This is probably the dumbest decision I've ever made.

"Chopper!" I call up to the bluenose. "I'll leave the rest to you!" I twist open the bag of candy before dumping the contents into my mouth. Better me than the kids.

I felt my cheeks become animated as all the candy filled my mouth. A pink vapor escaped my mouth as the candies started to decompose within my mouth. A nauseating sensation entered my stomach.

"She ate all the candy!" One of the children yelled.

"What is she thinking?!" Robin questioned, trying to hold back the group of kids that were still pursuing us.

"Give it back to us!"

"Screw you!"

"How dare you eat them all, you jerk!" Different children started to yell at me.

I fell to my knees, still on the air board. Most of my powers were acting wonky as my drink-drink fruit was in full effect. It was trying to dilute the new drug in my system, but there was only so much it could do with this quantity.
