***Amaya's POV***

After my disguised joke in the arena, I relocated my window seat to chill and watch the upcoming blocks. I don't want to greet the others till later.

Like usual, Lu or should I say 'Lucy' was wreaking shop. He even tamed the large bull that was also competing in Block C. Apparently, the bull was forced to attend different events in this arena often. Because of that he grew quite strong. However, no matter how strong a beast is, it's no match for conqueror's haki.

Naturally, an easy win isn't a thing for Lu. It might have something to do with him being the original protagonist, but who can say for sure. Anyways, an old flathead who had a grudge against Garp tried to take his anger out on him. Lu eventually straightened him out by returning his head back into a pointed cone shape.

After a downing of a giant and many other explosive opponents, Block C ended in Lu's victory.

Then Block D was then won by the other female constant, Rebecca. She was booed heavily by the crowd for her technique that avoided bloodshed by tricking people into the water. I'd long forgotten the specifics of her story, but I remembered enough to make sure she stays safe when everything goes down later.

Finally, there was Block E. I didn't remember this block existing, so I was unsure of what to expect. However, it was easy to see who would win the match relatively early in the round. After all, even if he didn't use his firepower, he has a distinct fighting style.

The preliminary matches were over, and there was an intermission time before the final due to the stage needing major repairs.

Now was the time. It's been too long already.

Getting off the ledge that I was sitting on, I made my way down the hall that held nostalgic sounds.

However, a sinister voice interrupted my joy.

Stopping behind a pillar, I listened in to the conversation over snailsponder.

Hahaha well, then that goes for Shiryu as well! Teach's voice sounded.

"I guess so, but I don't think we should take Aokiji's word for it." Burgess responded.

Aokiji? Oh right, didn't he quit the marines after not being selected as the next leader?

"Eh? Oh. Hey, Captain, I'm sorry. One second. Straw Hat's here." Burgess's statement stole my attention once again.

Huh? Really now? Put him on!

Using my sword's reflection, I watched the scene without being spotted. Burgess turned the snailsponder around in his hand.

Hello there. The patronizing voice spoke.

"You again." Lu's voice was filled with detestment, which was odd coming from him.

He was likely thinking about the last time we encountered the man back in Impel Down. Teach did his best back then to taunt Lu into a fight by using Ace against him.

"What do you want?" Lu angrily questions.

It's been awhile, hasn't it, old friend? Hahaha. I heard you're competing in the gladiator tournament, 'Lucy'! But forget about the Flame-Flame Fruit. Burgess is gonna win that, easy!

The man in question laughed in agreement.

I wanted Ace to join the Blackbeard Pirates back in the day, but he turned me down! So this way, I can have the next best thing. What do ya think? Zehahaha.

Lu's fists clenched on either side. "I'll tell you what I think. You're never getting Ace's power as long as I live!" He declared.

I smirk in agreement. Feelings mutual Lu, feelings mutual. Man, I wish I'd get to see Teach's face when he hears the news. That would be worth every berry to see.
