Cold metal. The exact opposite of things Eden enjoyed in life. The handcuffs around her wrist were chafing. The cold metal chair and cold metal desk were sucking any warmth from the poorly lit room.It wasn't the first time Eden found herself in an interrogation room. But this was different. She couldn't tell for sure but she knew that she was currently being held underground.
She also noticed the lack of any sort of greenery as they led her to her current room. It was obvious that people were watching her on the other side of the mirror. This was planned.
Taking her underground, far away from sunlight, and keeping plants out of the building. They knew who she was and what she could do. Not to mention everyone she encountered was wearing nose plugs.
Eden couldn't wait to get back to the mansion and tell the Professor that the government was getting smarter, understanding how to deal with mutants.
The door opened with a click and Eden looked up as a man she didn't recognize walked inside.
"Dr.Eden Rosales, I'm Agent Caufield with-"
"I don't really care. Can you just ask me your little questions so I can go? The dry air in here is really bad for my skin" she sighed.
"You think you deserve to be let go?" Caufield asked.
"Well, I understand that I'm here because for some reason you think I killed the president. I didn't" she said.
"Is that so?" he asked, sitting across from her.
"What motive, Agent Caufield, do you think I have?" she asked.
"Were you a supporter of President McKenna?" he asked.
"No" she shrugged. "But judging by recent polls not a lot of people were."
"So you planted a bomb?" he asked.
Eden rolled her eyes. "No, you barbarian. I was planning on voting."
"But you have killed before. Especially those whose views don't align with your own" he said.
"Anything that I've allegedly done in the past I've been cleared of. So if you don't have any real evidence, you can't-"
"Doctor, can you tell me what happened to Jean Grey?" he asked.
Eden tensed up, her jaw clenching as she stared at the man in front of her. "Doctor," she said.
"Excuse me?"
"Her name was Dr.Jean Grey and she was killed saving our lives after one of your generals tried to kill us all," she said.
Caufield leaned back in his chair and smiled. "She meant a lot to you?"
"She was my friend."
"Just your friend?" he asked.
