The Blackbird had long since disappeared over the horizon, leaving Eden and Logan alone in the vast, quiet woods. The evening sun cast long shadows through the trees, and the air was thick with the scent of pine and earth. Logan kept a steady pace beside Eden, his eyes constantly scanning the surroundings for any signs of danger, but he couldn't help but glance at her, concern etched on his face.

"We need to find somewhere to hole up," Logan said, his voice gruff but gentle. "You're still too weak to push yourself. You need to regain your strength."

Eden nodded, though she felt the weight of exhaustion pressing on her. She reached out with her powers, feeling the pulse of life in the forest around her. The connection felt faint, weaker than it should have been, but it was there. She closed her eyes, focusing on the energy of the trees, the plants, and the earth beneath her feet.

Taking a deep breath, she extended her hands, letting the warmth of her powers flow through her fingers and into the ground. The earth began to tremble slightly, and Logan stepped back, watching as the trees responded to Eden's command. Roots twisted and curled, forming a solid foundation, while vines and branches wove together, creating walls and a roof overhead.

Before long, a small fortress began to take shape, rising from the earth in a burst of life and color. The structure was organic, with walls made of intertwined roots and leaves, and the roof was a canopy of thick, lush foliage. Flowers of every color bloomed along the edges, filling the air with their sweet fragrance. The fortress was open yet protected, with natural barriers that provided both shelter and beauty.

Logan stood back, watching in awe as the fortress materialized before his eyes. He had seen Eden's powers in action before, but this—this was something different. It was as if she had called upon the very essence of the forest to create a sanctuary for them. The structure was not just a hiding place; it was a living, breathing extension of the land around them.

When Eden finally opened her eyes, she saw Logan staring at the fortress, his usually stoic expression softened with admiration. "Damn," he said, his voice quieter than usual, almost reverent.

Eden offered him a tired smile. "It's not much, but it should keep us safe for now."

Logan nodded, stepping inside and running his hand along the woven walls. The interior was just as stunning as the outside, with soft moss covering the ground like a carpet and shafts of golden sunlight filtering through the leafy ceiling. There was a peacefulness here, a sense of being completely in harmony with nature.

Logan took in the serene surroundings, but his expression hardened as he turned back to Eden. His eyes, still filled with admiration for what she had created, now held a storm of anger and guilt. He moved closer to her, his voice low and rough. "Did anyone hurt you while you were there?"

Eden shook her head, though the memory of her time in captivity still haunted her. "No. They just... they took my blood. Over and over."

Logan clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white as his claws threatened to unsheathe. "I should've been there. I should've stopped them before they got to you."
