As the helicopter Eden was escorted on landed, she couldn't help but feel a mix of shock and confusion.

"This all belongs to Matt?" she asked. "Where are we?"

The facility was expansive, resembling a hybrid between a hospital and a prison. The exterior had few windows, and the main entrance was blocked by two armed guards.

"Upstate New York. Mr. Lewis has been working on this facility for quite some time. We call it the Labyrinth," Jason said.

"Why do you call it that?" Eden asked as they headed inside.

"You'll see," he replied, checking in with the guards and scanning his ID.

"This place is really locked up tight," Eden noted, a chill running down her spine as she took in the stark surroundings.

"Yes. Mr. Lewis is very private about his work," Jason said.

"And what exactly is his work?" she asked, her voice laced with suspicion.

"I think it's best if he explains," he told her. As they walked through the entrance, Eden began to understand why it was called the Labyrinth.

The maze of winding hallways and the glass-walled rooms created a disorienting, almost surreal environment. Dozens of people moved about, some in white lab coats, others obviously guards. The sterile smell of antiseptic and the low hum of machinery filled the air, adding to the sense of unease.

"I need to use your phone. There are people who would probably like to know I'm okay," Eden said, trying to keep her voice steady.

"Of course. As soon as you talk to Mr. Lewis, we can bring you whatever you need," he said.

"I'd really rather call—"

"Eden."

Hearing her name, she turned around, feeling frozen in place.

"Matt?"

Logan stood outside the mansion's front door, cigar in hand, waiting impatiently for the car that would bring Eden back.

The Professor had assured him he would sense if she was in danger, but Logan was holding onto a fragile hope. The hours dragged by, each one a torment. Every breeze that rustled the plants made him think it was Eden sending him a sign.

But knowing Eden, she would've sent more than just leaves fluttering in the breeze.

The front door creaked open, and Logan turned to see Rogue poking her head out, looking frantic.

"You planning on sneaking out?" he asked.

When she spotted him, she sighed in relief, but the fear didn't leave her eyes. "You need to come see this. Flora's on the news."

Logan's eyebrows shot up. He quickly stubbed out his cigar and followed Rogue inside.

Storm was already in the main room, eyes glued to the TV screen.

"What happened?" Logan asked.

"She escaped," Storm said.

"What?"

On the television, a newswoman explained that the cameras had malfunctioned, and no one saw a thing, but Eden was gone.

Logan was about to rush off to wake the Professor when Storm stopped him.

"He's already at Cerebro," she said. Logan didn't waste any time heading down to meet him there.
