The men outside the school yelled out to each other in confusion as the ground beneath them began to shake.
All around the building, the ground began to crack open as roots shot up, crawling up the sides of the wall.
Branches from the nearby trees flew by them as they joined the roots, weaving in and out in an intricate pattern as they formed a barrier around the school.
Any men that had already gotten inside were now stuck inside. General Stryker turned to his men, fury on his face. "Break through! Now!"
Inside, Eden turned to Logan who was still fighting one of the guards. Suddenly a sonic scream echoed off the walls of the mansion.
Logan and the guard groaned in pain, the scream feeling like someone was clawing at their brain. Eden heard it but since she couldn't feel pain it didn't bother her.
Using this as her opportunity she ran over to them, pulled the gun from the guard, and hit him over the head. He fell to the ground unconscious as the screaming stopped.
"You okay?" he asked, looking her over.
Eden nodded. "Split up, find the kids. Meet on the first floor, west wing. There's a secret entrance that leads outside."
Logan nodded, about to run off before he stopped and pulled her back into him.
"What is it?" she asked, caught off guard as he pulled her into him, his lips slotting against hers.
"I really missed you," he said. Eden choked out a laugh, shaking her head.
"I missed you too," she said, squeezing his hand before running out and down the hall.
Running down the hall, she quickly came across more guards that were lurking around. Wrapping vines around two of them she smashed them together before tossing them back into their friends.
Not expecting her to be much of a fighter, someone came up behind her, wrapping their arms around her in an attempt to put her in a chokehold. But Eden was much stronger than people gave her credit for.
Grabbing onto his arms, she pulled on him, shifting her weight and tossing him over her shoulder. The soldier screamed as a vine curled around him before dropping him to the floor.
Eden looked up as she felt three needles poke through her chest, piercing her skin. Groaning in annoyance, she quickly pulled out the three vials of what was supposed to be tranquilizer and tossed them to the ground.
Then man who shot her watched in horror as they had no effect on her. A vine wrapped around him, pulling him in front of her.
"Do me a favor, sweetheart" she said, her voice sultry as pink smoke fell from her lips. "If there are any more of your friends in here, go find them. And kill them."
