He removed an object from his pocket, but the dim lights of the room made it difficult for you to see. As your eyes adjusted, you could see what he held—it was a gun.
You took another step back, fear gripping your heart. After all this, did he just want to kill you?
Akira raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing, doll? Did you think I was going to hurt you?"
He snickered at your silence, which gave him the answer he needed. After everything he did to have you, after all the times he said he wanted you, how could you think he would hurt you?
"That's stupid. What kind of idiot must I be to hurt the most precious thing to exist?" he said, switching on the lights.
You looked around the room, your face turning red with embarrassment. It was a shooting practice room. The walls were lined with targets, bulletproof padding, and various shooting aids. There were shelves with different kinds of guns and ammunition.
He handed you a gun and loaded his with bullets, his hands finding your waist again.
"You want to practice target shooting with me?" you asked, shocked, as you saw him put a bullet right in the bullseye.
"What else do you do with a gun?" He looked at you as if you were foolish, but he was the one who was foolish.
"Kill. I could kill you."
He laughed, hitting another target right in the center before throwing a sideways glance at you.
"And what? Run away from a locked room? I would love to see you try, doll."
"I could just drag your dead body and open the door," you said, fuming as you noticed he just continued to smirk as if his death was funny.
"Do you find your death funny? Why are you laughing?"
He slightly shook his head. "It's not that I find my death funny. It's the fact you think you might actually hit me with a bullet."
"What? I am a good shot," you said, shocked that he actually thought you couldn't hit him. "I will show you. How about we see who can hit the most bullseyes in 3 minutes?"
Akira loaded his gun again, smirking as he accepted the challenge. He didn't believe you could defeat him.
"If you win, I will let you ask for one thing. Anything except your freedom." He handed you a fully loaded gun and mockingly bowed. "Ladies first."
You took the gun, feeling its weight in your hands, and aimed at the target. Determination filled your veins as you focused on the bullseye.
"Three minutes," he said, setting a timer on his watch. "Go."
You fired your first shot, hitting close to the center. You quickly adjusted your aim and fired again, each shot getting closer to the bullseye. Akira watched you, his smirk slowly fading as he realized you were serious.
He fired his own shots, each one hitting the center with practiced ease. The sound of gunfire filled the room, and the air was thick with tension.
When the timer beeped, you lowered your gun, your hands shaking from the adrenaline. You looked at the targets and saw that you had hit more bullseyes than Akira.
