Chapter Fifteen

Tazmin didn't reach out to me once the rest of the day.

Not even when the sun faded beyond the horizon and I was busy getting ready at Marie's place.

My place felt too predictable if Tazmin were actually looking for me.

Apart of me wanted to call her bluff, but I knew her well enough to imagine her actually showing up at one of the clubs I was at.

Luckily, we wouldn't be going to a club tonight.

We're going to a yacht party instead.

"Oh that's hot," Marie said, eyeing my outfit.

From the sheer black dress that clung to my curves and revealed my tan skin to the matching black heels.

Part of my ass was showing but otherwise, everything that needed to remain covered was hidden behind the black garment.

I hummed with a smile, lining my lips with the brown lip pencil, "I could say the same about you," I said, briefly glancing over to my best friend who wore a small white top and a matching mini skirt.

Marie smiled, "Thanks babe," she said, doing her typical twirl as she sprayed her perfume on.

"Of course," I murmured, grabbing my typical Dior lip gloss to spread across my lined lips.

Marie hummed as she trailed into her bedroom to slide her heels on, "I still think all of this is insane," she added, circling back to the previous topic about Tazmin.

I smiled slightly as I closed my lipgloss, rubbing my lips together, "It'll be fine—she needs to stop doing stuff without permission if she doesn't want me to do the same," I determined, now grabbing my typical Valentino perfume to spray before exiting Marie's bathroom.

"She is the one with the gun," Marie reminded me with a raised brow.

I shrugged, "Exactly the point," I determined as Marie stood to her full height with her heels now on, "Everyone only listens to her because she waves a gun around—it's why her ego is so big."

Marie laughed, "I don't think you're emphasizing the gun part enough," she said as we walked out of her bedroom to grab our things.

And as I picked up my phone, I unconsciously looked over my notifications—skipping over the emails to see if Tazmin had texted.

It almost irritated me to see that she didn't—mostly because she was so set on her point that she felt like she didn't need to text to prove it further.

"Maybe just call her—invite her to come with," Marie suggested, which seemed to snap my attention away from my phone.

"Absolutely not," I shut her idea down with offense, sliding my phone into my clutch.

Marie hummed, "Okay," she mumbled, subtly side-eyeing me as we headed out of her apartment.
