Case File Name:
Emotionally Tired.♠Chapter Eighty-Four♠
I let out a deep sigh as soon as the yellow light flickered to red, and at that point, I had internally decided I would be a few minutes late.
But I knew that would be fine, Gia should already be thankful that I'm meeting her in the first place.
It's only been two weeks since the lowest moment of my fucking life in that strip club.
And while Tazmin hasn't contacted me once, Gia has been texting me numerous times just to speak to me.
I had been ignoring her messages since that night when Tazmin found everything out, but somewhere along the way, I decided that it might be a good idea to talk to her.
So did my therapist.
Which was someone I now paid weekly for.
Mostly because I didn't necessarily feel comfortable with Tazmin paying, and a small part of me thought she might reach out if I started paying.
But unsurprisingly she didn't.
I've honestly heard nothing regarding her, especially not from Marie who still sees her whenever she's around Vic.
But in all honesty, I think this is good for me.
Not hearing about her is helping me remain somewhat sane.
Even if I'm stuck in the void of waiting for her.
Because I refuse to move on to anyone else and I also don't want to fall back into my old habits.
Doing that would ruin the work I've done to get here, and I genuinely can't restart my progress all over again.
A part of me just hopes that one day she'll decide to reach out to talk.
I don't really have much of a backup plan aside from that.
"Gia?" I hesitantly whispered, noticing her familiar blonde hair even if she was hiding her face in her arms.
And as soon as she laid up, my brows unconsciously raised, noticing the huge sunglasses she wore on her face.
Which she didn't take off until glancing around the coffee shop, which was surprisingly empty for Miami on a Saturday.
"Did you notice anyone weird outside?" Gia whispered to me.
Which made my brows furrow, "No...?" I trailed off in question, watching as Gia's dark eyes anxiously glanced around the coffee shop yet again, "What's going on?" I asked, growing a little unsettled by her paranoia.
"There's been people following me," Gia said, drawing in a visible breath as she stared down at the table and away from my eyes, "I think Tazmin wants to kill me."
I blinked a few times, "I think if that were the case then she would've already done it by now," I said, knowing she had so many people and resources.
She didn't need to plot someone's death or plan it out—she didn't even have to think twice about the consequences either.
So if she wanted Gia dead, it would've happened the night she found out.
