Peace, easygoing, luck, organization, relaxation and simplicity are not words that exist in my vocabulary. So March 25th, 2015 was no different than many other days, you would think. But I could feel the world around me wasn't ready for what went down. It was almost like on that day the world went quiet, everybody realized that they were growing up and that nothing lasts forever...
[March 25th, 2015]
In the kitchen, my stomach growls, and I tease, "You got any food? You're starving me," as I search the fridge.
I spot some Chinese leftovers and ask, "Are these still good?"
"They're from last night," he calls out from across the room.
"Perfect!" I exclaim, grabbing the container and heading to the bed. I flop down on my stomach, food in hand, and he pulls me closer, making me giggle.
"You sticking around?" he mumbles, still half-asleep.
"Nah..." i laugh.
"Why not?" His voice is sleepy but curious.
"I gotta work, and..." I pause to take another bite. "I don't want you getting the wrong idea..."
"What idea?" He pulls me onto his chest, a playful smirk on his lips.
"That you..." I gesture vaguely. "Are more than just my... 'fuck buddy.'"
There's a moment of silence, then he sighs. "Ouch." he dramatically grabs his chest like he got shot. "Are you using me, Noa?"
"What do you mean?!" I protest, but deep down, I know exactly what he means.
"You know what I mean," he says, hitting the nail on the head.
"I'm so so so sorry..." I sit up on his lap. "For using your body as my own personal..." he stops me with a kiss. I pull back with a laugh. "Would you mind if I used you for the fourth time today?"
"Well, let me think no, definitely not. No mind in my mind?" he frowns, his eyebrows, then laughs before he seals the deal with a kiss.
I won't get too deep into the details of what happened next, but some folks might think I'm using him (he does), while others might just see me as a regular girl trying to have some fun (I do). I told him straight up from the get-go that we weren't getting into a relationship. It's kind of funny, really—he's the first guy I've ever asked to sign an NDA. But he was cool with it, being in the same industry and all, I signed one too.
It's not like I don't enjoy his company. He's smart, funny, and we share a lot of interests. But there is the understanding that I'm not over a certain someone (he knows who) which makes our relationship only exclusively physical.
Pling, Pling, Pling. The sound of notifications interrupts our moment, breaking the silence like an unexpected visitor.
"Fuck, Hold on!" I groan, scrambling for my phone.
"Come on, really?" he laughs, flopping down beside me.
I snatch up my phone and see the messages from all my friends sending me screenshots. My heart jumps into my throat.
"Are you okay?" he asks, noticing my sudden tension.
I glance around the room, feeling like my heart's about to burst. I never thought he'd actually do it.
