Zayn and I only got closer. We would spend every day together. We were so close that people thought we either were siblings or an old married couple. For once my future looked bright. More and more people wanted to make music with me. I got to be one the most requested producers in the business without even having to go to any events. Nobody knew who I was. I basically lived my life annoynemously with all the perks. But...yes there is a but. Something was missing.
[August 24th, 2015]
"Hey, hang out with me tomorrow!" I beckon with enthusiasm, while closing and locking my front door behind me.
"I can't," Abi responds sadly.
"Bitch why not?" I inquire, walking over to a flower shop on the other side of the road.
"Don't you have work tomorrow anyway?" Abi counters, reminding me gently. I can't help but roll my eyes. I love my job, it is my dream job but it is a bad excuse to not have fun. If having fun means i need to work with a hangover then so be it! We only live once.
"Alright, then how about tomorrow night? Please!" I beg, looking at the different flower opportunities winking at the flower lady who I now know really well. I come here every week.
"I've been out with you the past two nights. Maybe ask Sam he is probably free..." she trails off.
I know exactly what she is trying to do but its just..."Not happening,"
"He's genuinely sorry, you know that, right?" Abi interjects, hoping to shed light on everything that has happened between me and Sam.
"Okay," I painfully sigh as my eyes lock on the chosen flowers.
"Everything he did was beyond shitty, but he's like your brother. You have to talk to him again at some point, maybe he has an explanation?" she urges with sympathy. I get deja vu from yesterday, the day before that and the day before that. Abi hates conflict and I think she is getting a little bit tired of me. Ever since I stopped hanging out with Sam, she has been the one I have hung out with twice as much.
"... I don't want to talk about it," I pick the flowers up and then head to the counter to pay.
"Well, can't you ask Harmony, Kaylee, Dax or Theo?" She changes the topic.
I pause, considering my options carefully before responding. "Yes, I could, but being a band dosen't pay so well, they are all working late."
"Harmony doesn't work on fridays. Neither does Theo." Abi questions.
"Harmy's out with Leila," I explain.
"Oh, are they back together?" she interjects.
"Yeah, I think so..." I trail off and put down my phone to my chest to hand the cashier a 50 dollar bill. "Thank you! Keep the rest" I smile and she nods in acknowledgment.
"Theo?" she then asks.
"Theo well, Theo can't." I explain.
"Why?" she asks.
Shrugging I say, "I have no idea, but he says he's busy so..." I confess.
"That boy is a serious mystery to me." I hear her head shake through the phone.
I nod in agreement, puzzled that Theos existence is yet to be solved. "To everyone. Do you even know what his job is?"
"NO!" Abi exclaims, her laugh loud on the other end of the line. "Why is he even hanging out with us? He is way too cool!"
I chuckle softly. "I have no idea. Frankly, I know nothing about him. He's just kind of... there but I truly love him, he's a vibe."
We share a laugh before Abi changes the subject. "Oh, I have been meaning to ask you if you have possibly talked to Nora?"
