Hi, I'm you or you're me? My name is Noa, I'm 21 and you probably know me as the girl who dated Harry Styles for a while. I think we last talked when I was 18? And a lot has happened in three years. Don't worry you will slowly catch up. Where should I start? Hmm, let's just start with today.
[January 6th, 2016]
I'm racing through the bustling streets, my heart pounding with each hurried step. "Maeve, I'm on my way. I will be a little late, I'm sorry, but Starbucks had the longest line. Are they there yet?" I blurt out, my mind already spinning with thoughts of this extremely important meeting ahead.
"They've arrived. This is really crucial. It's their debut album. It's a make-or-break it moment," Maeve's voice crackles with nervousness through the phone.
"Alright, I'll give it my all I promise. Why are you stressing so much?! The contracts have already been signed," I insist, darting my eyes from side to side as I cross the road.
"They have, yes," Maeve sighs, obviously stressing.
"So it'll be fine. Stop stressing." I continue, my pace quickening as I near my house.
As I finally approach my doorstep, I hastily end the call and slip my phone into my pocket. Inserting the key into the lock, I push open the door and step inside my house, only to be met with a sight that stunnes me making the coffees fall out of my hand.
"Harry!" I exclaim, the name escaping my lips as my eyes lock with his in a moment of electric intensity.
"Noa!" His voice echoes back, a mixture of surprise and longing evident in his tone.
Silence fills the space between us as we stand there, absorbing each other's presence, realizing that we are truly face to face for the first time in three long years.
Maeve looks in between us. "So i guess this is my cue to get going..." she slips out behind me. Mine and Harrys eyes are glued to each others, none of us really hear her or acknowledges her disappearance.
"Um, you have tattoos," Harry observes, his eyes tracing the inked lines on my skin which sends a shiver down my spine.
"Yes, I do," I reply with a slight smirk as all the feelings and memories flood back. "And your hair, it's longer."
He runs his fingers through his hair, a nervous gesture betraying his attempt to maintain composure. "Yeah, I grew it out."
A chuckle escapes my lips. "Yes, I figured, that's kind of how you get long hair."
He suppresses a grin, his hand drifting to cover his mouth. And then I notice it—a ring, glinting faintly on his left ring finger.
"You're married?" I blurt out, my smile masking a knot of emotions growing in my stomach.
"What?" Harry's eyes widens in confusion, and for a moment, he completely forgets about the ring on his finger.
I glance back at his hand, my eyes fixating on the unmistakable symbol of commitment. "That ring," I gesture, "are you married?"
Understanding flickers in his eyes as he realizes what I'm hinting at. "Oh, that? Yeah or no, not married."
A smile of amusement plays on my lips. "Then why wear the ring?"
