as lucille finished her story, she could feel emily's curious eyes on her. the room was enveloped in a comforting silence, the only sound the gentle creak of the rocking chair.

the snow outside continued to fall softly, a serene backdrop to their conversation. emily's voice broke the silence, filled with a mix of awe and curiosity.

"grandma, how do you know all these details about lucille and dallas? it just sounds so real."

lucille smiled gently, her eyes shimmering with a mix of nostalgia and emotion. she took a deep breath, ready to share the truth that had been hidden in her heart for so long.

"emily, there's something i need to tell you." emily leaned in closer, her young face alight with anticipation."the reason i know so much about lucille and dallas," lucille began, her voice tender and steady, "is because i am lucille. the story i told you isn't just a tale from the past—it's my story."

emily's eyes widened in surprise, her mouth forming a small "o" of astonishment. "you mean... you were the lucille in the story? and dallas was real?" lucille nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"yes sweetheart. dallas was very real, and so were the experiences we shared. everything i told you happened to me." emily sat back, absorbing this revelation. "wow grandma. i can't believe it. you went through all of that?"

lucille smiled, a bittersweet expression on her face. "yes, i did. it was a different time, and life was filled with challenges and many unexpected turns. but i guess those experiences shaped who i am today."

emily's eyes were filled with empathy and admiration. "did you ever see dallas again after that visit you made?" lucille shook her head, her voice tinged with sadness.

"no, i never did. after that visit while he was locked up, our lives took very different paths. i married your grandpa david, and we built a life together. but a part of me always wondered about dallas, where he was, and how he was doing."

"do you still miss him?" emily asked softly. lucille sighed, her gaze distant as she looked back on her life. "in a way, yes. i miss the person he was and the connection we had. but i've also learned to cherish the life i had with david and the family we created. love can be complex, holding space for many emotions and memories."

emily was silent for a moment, her young mind processing everything her grandmother had shared. "thank you for telling me, grandma. it means a lot."

lucille reached out and gently squeezed emily's hand. "i'm glad i could share it with you, emily. it's important to remember our past and learn from it. but now, it's time for you to get some sleep."

emily smiled, snuggling deeper into her covers. "goodnight grandma." "goodnight, emily," lucille whispered, leaning over to kiss her forehead. she watched as emily's eyes fluttered closed, her breathing evening out as she drifted into sleep.

lucille sat by her window, her gaze lost in the falling snow outside. the world seemed so quiet and still, a stark contrast to the storm of emotions swirling inside her.

she clutched a small, faded photograph of dallas in her hand, the one she had retrieved from the box of memories earlier. his face, with that familiar rebellious grin, seemed to look back at her from another lifetime.

as she stared into the white expanse, her thoughts drifted back to the days of their youth, when everything felt intense and immediate.

she thought about their chance meeting at the drive-in, the unexpected connection they had forged despite their different social worlds.

she remembered the thrill of their first kiss, the secret conversations they shared, and the way he made her feel alive in a way no one else ever had.

"dallas," she whispered into the stillness of the room, her voice barely audible. "i wonder where you are now. do you ever think of me the way i think of you?" she recalled his strength and his vulnerability, the rough exterior that hid a wounded heart.

she thought about how unjustly he had been taken from her, framed for a crime he didn't commit, and how powerless she had felt in the face of it all.

if only things had been different," she mused. "if only we hadn't been from such different worlds, if only edward hadn't been so jealous, if only you hadn't been framed... what could we have been?"

she sighed deeply, the weight of unspoken words and unfulfilled dreams pressing down on her. she knew she had to move on with her life; she had a family who loved her and depended on her. but there was always that part of her heart that belonged to dallas, a piece that time and distance could never erase.

"dallas," she thought, "i hope you're okay, wherever you are. i hope you found some kind of peace, some kind of happiness. you deserved so much more than what life gave you."

lucille felt a tear slip down her cheek, warm against the coldness of the night. she wiped it away, feeling a strange mix of sorrow and acceptance.

she had loved him deeply, and she had lost him, but she had also learned to live with the pain and find joy in the life she had built.

"thank you for those moments we had," she thought. "thank you for teaching me how to feel so deeply, to love with all my heart. i'll never forget you dallas."

she allowed herself a few more moments of quiet reflection, holding the photograph close. then, with a resolve that had taken years to build, she placed the photograph back in its box and closed the lid.

lucille stood up and looked around her room, filled with the life she had made after dallas. she saw the mementos of her marriage to david, the pictures of her children and grandchildren, the evidence of a full and loving life.

she knew that while dallas would always be a part of her, she had to honor the life she had chosen, the family she had created.

with one last glance out the window, she whispered, "goodnight, dallas," and turned away, ready to embrace the present and the future, carrying with her the memories of a love that had shaped her but no longer defined her.

hi pookies. well this is the end but before you go i want to share something with y'all.

i am very happy to announce that i will be rewriting sabrina, that book was also very embarrassing and i thought more about how to make the plot even better which gave me the idea to rewrite it. and yes, there will be lots of changes.

instead of steve and soda being the ones involved, it'll be dally and soda, i just feel like it would be more realistic for some reason. and i'm also gonna add sylvia and evie since i don't include them much.

i'll also be deleting the og ofc but anyways i hope you guys read it once it's out which will be very soon i can promise you that.

stay gold 💫
