TOM'S POV:
"That's my point, Kaulitz. You can't expect me to win this case if you don't want to tell me the details." John spoke to me leaning back in his chair as he stared down at the pile of papers in front of him. John Smith, my lawyer who also happens to be Dylan's father. I wasn't sure if I was truly going to court, in my position I could easily bribe myself out of jail. I have plenty of money to spend and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. But me being me, I liked to play fair and by the rules. Having the best lawyer in all of Germany was nothing new to me. John had fought a lot of cases for me and over time I kept finding out more and more stuff about him. Stuff that had made my suspicion grow.
I stared down at him. My glare was almost intimidating because of how cold and distant my expression was. "Sure, but I don't like talking about my mistakes," I spoke with a stern tone not taking my eyes off of him. I didn't have to snoop around his office or follow him everywhere he goes to find out what kind of shit he does behind the facade. Where he earns that much money had always been a question to me. People pay a lot just for him to not to the job good but still win the case? How does he even manage to be the best lawyer in all of Germany?
He chuckled looking up at me. "Okay, Kaulitz. Don't play stupid. You know how everything goes from start to finish, it's not your first time here innit?"
"Why should I tell you information that you do not need or does not have anything to do with the case? Want to know how many times I touched her sweet little body, or does your son want to know that?" I spoke harshly. He knew I wasn't stupid. Taylor and Dylan had dated for a year or so before I came into the game and ruined their relationship. Now John has the pleasure of knowing every little detail that he is, of course, gonna tell Dylan. "I'm not here to fulfill your kids' knowledge," I spoke crossing my arms over my chest.
"Come on, Kaulitz. Don't make me laugh. Why would I tell Dylan that? He does not care." He said with a small laugh looking down at some papers, signing them.
It annoyed me how he thought that he could just be this way. Lie to me or make me look stupid. I shifted in the seat, moving closer to him as I spoke sharply. "You wouldn't care too, huh? Knowing that one of your father's richest and well-known clients stole your precious little girlfriend because she wanted someone real. Don't try to make me look stupid just because you can't hide the true facade." My distant and quiet tone echoed through the room like a ghost roaming around as a shadow.
John's eyes met mine and he sat there quietly. The way he kept biting onto his flesh gave me an ego boost knowing I was indeed right. I didn't care if I hurt his feelings by calling out his son. Taylor had never wanted Dylan after she met me. I still remember the first look we gave each other. One that showed that whatever we had will last forever, regardless of how many people come in between us. "I understand my son gets a bit.... pushy sometimes. But that's no reason for you to call him pathetic."
"I did not use that word. I just mentioned the way Taylor kept complaining to me about him. He's always around other girls, constantly pushing her away despite her allegedly being his girlfriend. At this POV of the situation, I'd say that he really is pretty much of a pathetic kid who doesn't know how to treat women right." I spoke leaning closer. "Just like his father."
His expression was full of mixed emotion but anger was on the top of the list. Brows furrowed, nostrils flared and eyes narrowed. He looked like Gary Busey at some point. "You're the one to talk," He spoke coldly glaring at me. "I don't think you have counted how many women have left you because of your unbearable behavior." The words swam around the room for a moment before getting inside my ear making me realize what he just said.
I hated when people brought up my past. Especially with women cosidering how unlucky I am with love. I really thought me and Taylor would be forever. I loved her a bunch and she did love me back. At least that's what she said. I always made sure she was safe and protected her from all the bad stuff happening around us. "Taylor had no problem with the way I acted." I defended myself speaking back with my tone slightly higher than before.
"Not Taylor."
I sat there quietly trying to froget the memories of her. It's been months since I had thought of her. Years since that happened to her. Like Taylor, I had always thought that me and Layla would last forever. Bill proved me wrong. I was still unsure if he had done that. If he had killed her that day. The image of him holding the knife infront of her limp body always brought back those memories. Memories of the day it had happened.
"Don't fucking mention her, it's in the past." I told him my tone sharper than before. I stood up from my seat, fixing my shirt whilst looking out the window of the office. The city of Berlin in full view from the office. Little dots of light shinning over the whole city. "Like my lack of information or not, make it work. It's not just a few bucks I'm offering for you to do your job." I spoke coldly taking one last look at John before leaving the office, making sure to loudly shut the door behind me.
My plan is simple. If I go to court, I'm ending John after the trial. If I'm free from jailtime, his life is ending soon. From all I know is that time is passing fast. Each day I'm learning more and more information about him and the shit he does. It's my job to find out how he does these sort of stuff and bring him down.
