Narrator

After what happened with Toolbox, Minji set new rules for all Hooligans. Y/n was to be guarded at all times. Crew members were stationed at all vulnerable venues and territories.

Minji needed to make sure all the elders and children who were affiliated with the Hooligans were safe. She couldn't afford any Punks coming over to hurt another family member.

Meanwhile, she ordered Hyein to inform her parents of what was going on behind the scenes so they could up their security at the KKPLM building.

The KKPLM was owned by Minji and her crew but it was ran by the parents. More importantly, Hyein's parents. Mostly as a safeguard.

- Danielle POV -

While Minji, Hanni, and Hyein were running around trying to put safeguards in place after what happened to Toolbox, Y/n was kind of sulking all around the house.

"What's up, buddy?" I asked when I noticed Y/n upside down on the couch.

"Nothing," Y/n sighed out.

"Really?" I stepped a little closer.

"Yup," Y/n exhaled even deeper.

I made my way over to sit next to them and was quick to notice what Y/n was really doing... They were sulking on the sofa, looking at pictures of Yunah...

"Did you really like her that much?" I leaned over with my hand on my chin.

"Who?" Y/n tried to play dumb.

"Don't even try. I can see the reflection of your phone on your glasses," I rolled my eyes a little annoyed.

"Urrgghh, I guess...," Y/n started getting up to sit probably.

"I guess I liked her so much because that's been the closest I've ever been to falling in love," Y/n sat back on the couch... still sulking...

I sank myself into the sofa as well and took a deep breath. I always enjoyed getting to know Y/n on a deeper level, but I was always careful with my words.

Granny had told me stories before about how it was hard for anyone to understand Y/n's emotions. It might have just been that they were all old and tired, but I think they did the best they could.

I wanted to be as sensitive to Y/n as my Granny was.

- Y/N POV -

"Have you never fallen in love before?" Danielle softly asked.

I took a deep breath as I thought back to all the times I was in love... or thought that I was...

"I have," I exhaled a bit heartbroken.

"I have just never felt loved back," I explained.

Up until now, it had never occurred to me why I liked Yunah so much. I mean I liked for the usual reasons everyone likes someone, but I never thought deeper than that...

Like what made her so special that I would go against everyone's advice to not fall for her.

I guess maybe I just really liked the thought that she was falling for me too.

"You sure about that?" Dani smugly asked.

I rolled my eyes in annoyance. I hated it when she and the girls asked me things as if I was some sort of idiot.

"Yes, I think I would know if I've ever felt loved," I sassed.

"You know there's different kinds of love," Dani was starting with her wise words.

"I know. I know..," I huffed out.

"I know you all love me, and your grandparents loved me, but that's different," I tried to explain.

- Danielle POV -

"I want to be in love," Y/n confessed.

My eyes went wide, and my heart fluttered a bit.

I always found it cute that Y/n confided in Haerin and me the most. Maybe it was because we babied them a lot, but at times it felt more like Y/n just mirrored whatever relationship they had with grandparents with us.

"But why with her? There's so many other people in the world," I tried to be as level-headed as I could.

I couldn't lie that the idea of Yunah dating Y/n left a bad taste in my mouth, but if that's what Y/n really wanted... I couldn't stop them...

I just wanted to know why.

I wanted to understand if that's what Y/n really wanted.

"There's so many people in our world. Why does it have to be her?" I rephrased my question.

"Our world?" Y/n snickered.

"Yes, our world," I chuckled at their reaction.

"Yeah, everyone in our world either hates me, is in a relationship, or pretends to like me. Who in the hell do you think would fall for me?" Y/n looked amused.

"I could think of-"

I was about to answer Y/n's question when someone suddenly interrupted us...

"Y/n, get up. I need you to drive me somewhere!"

Y/n and I looked toward the back of the house to find one of the few people that had come to mind.

"Why me? Just drive yourself!" Y/n complained.

"Y/n. Car. Now!" Minji wasn't going to repeat herself.

"We'll finish this later granny," Y/n suddenly kissed my cheek goodbye.

"What?" I was thrown off.

Y/n looked shocked themselves.

*HONK, HONK*

Minji started honking the car's horn outside the house.

"Sorry. You just reminded me of your grandmother," Y/n quickly bowed at me before running out of the house.

"Y/n, hurry up!!" I could hear Minji yelling outside.

If those two didn't end up killing each other in the next few weeks, then I was hoping my intuition was right.
