•••Bokuto, with his typical boundless enthusiasm, couldn't resist starting things off with a burst of energy. "Hey, Karasuno! You guys are crazy on the court! I love it!"
Hinata, responded, "You too, Bokuto-san. Your spikes are insane!"
Suguru from Nohebi joined in with a sly grin. "You know, we've got some tricks up our sleeves too."
Kuroo, the captain of Nekoma, leaned in to interject. "Ah, tricks? That's interesting. Care to share any?"
Suguru leaned in closer, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "Well, we could tell you, but then we'd have to use them against you."
The afternoon was alive with the laughter and chatter of the gathered volleyball players from Karasuno, Fukurodani, Nohebi, and Nekoma as they continued to enjoy their well-deserved feast. Grilled meats sizzled on the open fire, filling the air with their irresistible aroma.
On one hand, Aeris was busy serving the boys, making sure they had plenty to eat.
"You guys, need more meat?" Aeris inquired.
"Thanks, Aeris-san," Akaashi expressed his gratitude.
"You guys, eat more," Aeris encouraged the Fukurodani members, who responded with thankful smiles.
Aeris then returned to join Yukie and Kaori, who were busy chopping onions and cabbages for the meal.
As they worked, Aeris noticed something amiss. "You okay, Kaochan?" she chuckles
Kaori, with tears in her eyes and while wiping her face, cried out, "Help! Aechan!"
Aeris immediately sensed danger. "Kaochan, be careful. You're holding a knife," she warned.
With a sudden gasp, Kaori dropped the knife. Instinctively, Aeris reached out and caught it in midair.
"Aechan! Don't catch the knife!" Mako exclaimed, her voice filled with worry.
"Oops," Aeris said, realizing her impulsive action. Her hand was already bleeding from the sharp blade.
"AHHHH!" The three of them cried out in alarm, their voices echoing through the gathering.
The unexpected mishap had everyone's attention as they rushed to Aeris's side, concerned for her well-being.
"Who's stupid enough to catch a knife?" Coach Ukai couldn't help but comment, his voice a mix of disbelief and concern.
Kaori, with tears still in her eyes, apologized, "Sorry for that, Ae-chan," her voice filled with remorse.
"I'm the one who got hurt though," Aeris responded, attempting to reassure her friend.
The Coach Ukai, Takeda-sensei, Kiyoko, and Koari, had all gathered in a room and was sitting down, waiting for Kiyoko to bring the aid kit.
"Oh, I don't want to see blood, but are you okay, Aeris-chan?" Takeda-sensei said
"Yes Takeda-sensei" Aeris said
Kiyoko soon arrived with the aid kit, and Coach Ukai took charge. "Now, Aeris-chan."
"Wait! Wait! Damn, wait!" Aeris panicked, her nerves getting the best of her. "Okay."
Without warning, Coach Ukai poured alcohol onto her injured hand, causing Aeris to exclaim in pain. "Ah! E: Fuc—" She held her breath, trying to endure the stinging sensation. "Coach, why, coach," she added through gritted teeth, a tear escaping her eye, though she was also laughing.
Coach Ukai couldn't help but comment, "I don't know if you're crying or laughing."
"Both," Aeris confirmed, her laughter mixed with relief.
"Crazy, hold on, let's put some betadine," Coach Ukai suggested.
Aeris held her breath again as Coach Ukai gently applied betadine to her injured hand. After that, he carefully placed band-aids on the wound, ensuring that Aeris received the proper care.
With the minor mishap behind them, the volleyball teams from Karasuno, Fukurodani, Nohebi, and Nekoma continued to enjoy their meal together. The scent of grilled meats filled the air, and the laughter and camaraderie were as vibrant as ever.
Coach Ukai couldn't resist a comment. "All done being stupid, Aeris-chan. Now let's go out and eat."
"Thanks, coaches," Aeris expressed her gratitude, her hand now properly bandaged.
"You okay now, Aechan?" Bokuto inquired, concerned for his friend.
"I'm good, y'all. I am good, don't you worry," Aeris reassured him before taking a seat with the rest of the team managers.
Yachi, still feeling guilty about the accident, asked, "You sure you're good, Ae-san?"
A contrite Kaori added, "Sorry about that again, Aechan."
Aeris, her smile ever bright, responded, "All is well. I got new memories to cherish when we see each other again."
Asahi approached her with a plate of food. "Here you go, Aeris-chan."
Aeris, her appetite returning, was surprised. "Huh! What? Thanks, Asahi."
Kenma, not one to be left out, offered her a plate as well. "Here."
Aeris, touched by their kindness, asked, "Why is everyone being so nice all of a sudden?"
Suga chimed in, "Yeah, just accept what we offer, okay."
"Thank you, minna-san, thank you," Aeris expressed her gratitude, her voice filled with warmth.
Tobio couldn't resist a playful jab. "Huh! Stupidity does run in the family."
They all laughed, the tension from the earlier mishap dissipating as they continued to talk, laugh, and enjoy their meal together.
Aeris, her spirits high, couldn't help but reflect on the moment. "Ah, this will be a nice memory to cherish."
Kamiko agreed, saying, "True, I never thought Karasuno would improve so much."
Kiyoko, the voice of experience, added, "Yeah, Asahi was very shy, and everyone was just starting out. But when Aeris and Coach Ukai came, everyone found hope and fun."
Yukie, her cheeks filled with food, chimed in with a heartfelt sentiment. "Me too. I'll miss this. I've never had this much fun in my life. When we all graduate, let's stay in contact," she said while taking another bite.
Aeris, ever the joker, couldn't resist a tease. "Are you stress eating, Yuki?"
Yuki, still chewing, replied, "Yes, because I'm gonna cry."
And as the sun set and the laughter continued, the bonds between these teams grew stronger, leaving them with memories to cherish and friendships to treasure as they moved forward.
