Ines' POV
Everything we did earlier turned into a blur.
Things escalated quickly, and I do not know what the heck is happening anymore.
Kanina lang, me and Nemesis were acting like a lovey-dovey couple, and now he became furious because of a phone call.
Aiden? Siya 'yong nabanggit ni Chloe kanina na kapatid ni Nemesis. What happened to him?
"No. Chloe never said anything regarding this matter. We just saw her outside our house this morning, and the next thing we knew, she was asking if she could stay here. I never knew about the reason why she wanted to stay here." Nemesis sounded so furious and worried at the same time as he pinched the top of his nose bridge.
I slowly fixed my dress and covered myself with my cardigan as I watched how Nemesis reacted to the phone call.
Sino kaya ang kausap niya? Mukhang sobrang seryoso ng usapan nila lalo na't nabanggit ni Nemesis ang tungkol sa pananatili ni Chloe rito.
Ramdam ko talagang may itinatago si Chloe lalo nasa biglaan niyang pananatili rito. I guess the phone call is all about their family matters, lalo na't nabanggit din si Aiden.
Ayoko namang makialam pero hindi ko rin maiwasan ang makaramdam ng pag-aalala at kaba lalo na't mukhang sobrang seryoso ng nangyayari, at kahit papaano ay asawa ko si Nemesis kaya pamilya ko na rin ang pamilya niya.
"I never even knew that Aiden was here in the Philippines!"
Nemesis got more furious, and stress was written all over his face.
What exactly happen to Aiden para maging ganito si Nemesis?
Lumapit ako sa kaniya at marahan na hinaplos ang kaniyang balikat at braso upang pakalmahin siya. Lumingon naman siya sa akin at binigyan ako ng isang pilit na ngiti.
"Okay. I'll talk to Chloe." His gaze remained on me as he ended the phone call. He sighed before averting his gaze to the door and removing my hand from his arm. "I'm sorry, Ines. I have to fix something."
Pinanood ko siya na lumabas sa kaniyang opisina, ngunit sinundan ko rin kaagad siya dahil kakaiba talaga ang pakiramdam ko sa mga nangyayari at mangyayari.
He went in front of my room, which is where Chloe stays right now. He knocked on the door multiple times as he repeatedly called out for Chloe's name.
"Chloe! Wake up! Let's talk! This is an urgent matter!" He knocked and shouted gently yet full of authority.
"Nemesis, I don't think the door is locked naman," wika ko pagkalapit ko sa kaniya.
Pansin ko kasing bahagyang nakaawang ang pinto at hindi ito tuluyang nakasara kaya imposible namang nai-lock ni Chloe ang pintong hindi naman talaga nakasara. Sumisilip din ang kaunting liwanag mula sa lampshade na nasa loob ng kuwarto.
He calmly looked at me, but I could still see the worry in his anxious eyes. "Ines, Chloe is my sister, but she is still a woman, and it is not appropriate for a man to just barge into a woman's room."
Magsasalita pa lang sana ako nang bumukas ang pinto at bumungad si Chloe na mukhang wala pang tulog.
"Yes, Kuya?" wika niya kasabay ng pagtingin niya sa amin ni Nemesis.
"Kagigising mo lang ba?" kaagad na tanong sa kaniya ni Nemesis.
Umiling naman siya. "Hindi ako makatulog."
"Great. You better explain yourself. You better explain this whole situation to me."
"What do you mean, Kuya?" Chloe looked so confused yet nervous at the same time.
